The African National Congress (ANC) is a political party in South Africa. It originated as a liberation movement known for its opposition to apartheid and has governed the country since 1994, when the first post-apartheid election resulted in Nelson Mandela being elected as President of South Africa. Cyril Ramaphosa, the incumbent national President, has served as President of the ANC since 18 December 2017.
KaNgwane was a bantustan in South Africa, intended by the apartheid government to be a semi-independent homeland for the Swazi people. It was called the "Swazi Territorial Authority" from 1976 to 1977. In September 1977 it was renamed KaNgwane and received a legislative assembly. After a temporary suspension of its homeland status during 1982, the legislative assembly was restored in December 1982. KaNgwane was granted nominal self-rule in August 1984. Its capital was at Louieville. It was the least populous of the ten homelands, with an estimated 183,000 inhabitants. Unlike the other homelands in South Africa, KaNgwane did not adopt a distinctive flag of its own but flew the national flag of South Africa.

Kabokweni is a town in Ehlanzeni District Municipality in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Kabokweni was formally established in 1967 as the first residential township in the KaNgwane Bantustan. In 1968 the Bantu Affairs Department of the Apartheid state forcibly moved over 3000 people from the town of White River to Kabokweni. Today, it is a town of over 20 000 people.
David Dabede Mabuza is a South African politician who served as deputy president of South Africa from February 2018 to February 2023. He was the deputy president of the African National Congress (ANC) from December 2017 to December 2022 and was previously the premier of Mpumalanga from 2009 to 2018, throughout the presidency of his former political ally Jacob Zuma. Mabuza served as a Member of Parliament from 2018 until his resignation in 2023.

She served as the chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund UK.
Kwati Candith Mashego-Dlamini is a South African politician from Mpumalanga. She served as the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation from May 2019 until June 2024, and she also served as Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform from 2014 to 2019.
Mabhuza Simeon Ginindza was a South African politician. He was born in Eerstehoek. Ginindza served both in the Apartheid homeland administration and the post-Apartheid ANC government that elected Nelson Mandela as the first black President in 1994.
Violet Sizani Siwela was a South African politician from Mpumalanga. She was a Member of the National Assembly, where she chaired the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development, and a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC). She served in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature until May 2019.
Seaparo Charles Sekoati, sometimes misspelled Seaparo Sekwati, is a South African politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2024. He was a Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature from 2004 until 2024 and served in the Limpopo provincial government as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health and Social Development from 2004 to 2009 and, before serving as the MEC for Finance from 2019 until 2024, MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism from 2013 to 2019. From 2013 to 2017, he was also Regional Chairperson of the Mopani branch of his political party, the African National Congress.
Archibold Jomo Nyambi is a South African politician from Mpumalanga. He has been House Chairperson of Committees in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) since 2014. Before joining the NCOP in 2009, he served in the National Assembly from 2006 to 2009.
Prince Johannes Mkolishi Dlamini, was the Chief of Embhuleni in Badplaas between September 1954 until his death, at age 59, in December 1988. A great-grandson of Mswati II, Mkolishi was the son of the previous Chief of Embhuleni, Prince James Maquba Dlamini, and his wife Mkhosise Madonsela.
David Sunnyboy Mkhwanazi,, is a South African politician who served both in the KaNgwane government and post-Apartheid government. He served in Mathews Phosa's first Mpumalanga government, appointed the MEC for the Department of Environmental Affairs. He was a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature from 1994 to 2009 and was subsequently appointed to the Public Service Commission of South Africa.
