The Iranian Premier Wrestling League is a professional wrestling league in Iran. It is the highest level of wrestling league in Iran and has been held annually since 2003.

This was the fourth consecutive win for Esteghlal against Persepolis in official matches. The competition began on September 12, 2011 and ended on March 15, 2012. Esteghlal beat Shahin Bushehr 4–1 on penalties and was qualified for the group stage of the 2013 AFC Champions League.

Payam Tehran Football Club ق) is an Iranian football club based in Tehran, Iran that participates in the Tehran Football League since the 1980s. The club now has focus on the youth academy to educate and train a new generation of football players. The veteran team of the club, which are players of over 35 years old, participate in the Veteran premier football league of Iran every year.

Hassan Yazdani Charati is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. Yazdani is an Olympic and World Champion in freestyle wrestling in two weight categories. He became Olympic champion in the 74kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics after defeating Russian wrestler Aniuar Geduev in the final. The following year he became World Champion at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in the Men's freestyle 86 kg category. He won his second world title at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan and third at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Norway.

Younes Sarmasti is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. He won a bronze in the Asian Championships 2015. Sarmasti also won a gold medal in Junior Worlds 2013 and Takhti Cup 2015.

Behzad Vahdani was born on 29 May 1988 in Kolab Village, Bojnord, North Khorasan Province, Iran. He is the champion of the Kurash in the world. He is an Iranian judoka and former member of the Kurash national team of Iran. He won a gold medal in Kurash field on 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. In October 2019, Arash Miresmaeili was selected Behzad Vahdani as the coach of the national adolescents Judo team.

Ali Zand is an Iranian karateka. was born in 1999 in Arak. Karate can be seen from the age of four under the supervision of his coach and he is active in the Shitorio style. He has been in the national team camps since 2008, and together with his teammates won the first Iranian Men's Kata Team Adult Medal in the Karate World Championships in Madrid in 2018.

The 2022–23 Persian Gulf Pro League was the 40th season of Iran's Football League and 22nd as Persian Gulf Pro League since its establishment in 2001. The 2022–23 season started on 11 August 2022 and featured 14 teams from the 2021–22 Persian Gulf Pro League and two new teams promoted from the 2021–22 Azadegan League: Mes Kerman and Malavan. Shahriyar Moghanlou of Sepahan was the top scorer with 13 goals.
