Irene Ntale (born 30 January 1988) is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and guitarist. [1] She sings RnB, reggae, and acoustic soul. [2]

Early life and education

Ntale was born on 30 January 1989 to George William Ntale and his wife. She started singing at school and in the church choir where she also learned how to play the guitar. [2] She went to Kitante primary school, Kitante Hill School for O-level, and Makerere High, now Migadde College, for A-level. She earned a Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management degree at Kyambogo University. [3]

Music

She started singing at school and in the church choir where she also learned how to play the guitar. [2] She used to perform at shows, singing other artists' songs, until she went to Swangz Avenue. [3] Ntale has had hit songs since, like "Gyobera", "Love letter" a collaboration with Bebe Cool, "Stay with me", "Nkubukinze" and "Olindaba". [4] [5]

She has been hosted on Focus on Africa (TV programme). [6] [7] She is the campaign ambassador for the Red Card to Drunk Driving campaign by Uganda Breweries Limited. [8] [9]

Universal Music Records

In early 2019, after numerous visits to Lagos, Nigeria, it was rumored that Ntale was negotiating a deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria, and on 21 August 2019, she signed a record deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria, [10] making her the first Ugandan artiste to be signed to the record label. [11] The company posted a welcome message to Ntale on their official Instagram page stating “Welcome to the Family!! Uganda’s 1st Lady @irene_ntale The journey has begun…”. [12]

Ntale released her debut single under the Universal Music imprint titled, Nyamba, a song in her local dialect, which means, "Help Me". [11]

Flavia Tumusiime is a Ugandan actress, media personality, Media and Tech Communications Consultant, radio and television host, voice-over artist, emcee and author of 30 Days of Flavia. She formerly hosted a mid-morning radio show on 91.3 Capital FM radio in Kampala, former co-host of Morning @ NTV on NTV Uganda and news anchor on NTV Tonight news and is a VJ for Channel O. She played the role of Kamali Tenywa in Nana Kagga's television series, Beneath The Lies - The Series from 2014 to 2016 and has co-hosted the Guinness Football Challenge.

Alex Julius Kwesigabo, better known by his stage name Flex D'Paper, is a Ugandan rapper and songwriter born and raised in Kampala. Raymond Joseph Mugerwa , better known by his stage name Ray Signature aka Uncle Ray, is a Ugandan singer-songwriter and music producer from Kampala, Uganda. Ray Signature has written and produced songs for several prominent artists in East Africa, including Irene Ntale, Rema Namakula, Juliana Kanyomozi, Fille, Allan Toniks among others. Signature also produces music for campaigns like Reach A Hand Uganda.

Anita Kyarimpa better known as Anita Fabiola is a Ugandan actress, tourism ambassador, Event host, business woman, and former beauty queen. In February 2019 she was appointed as a Goodwill Tourism ambassador headlining the "Tulambule" campaign in liaison with the Uganda Tourism Board to promote tourism all over Uganda. Prior to hosting the Be my date show on NTV in 2014, Fabiola became Miss Uganda West and the first runner-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013. She is also known for hosting some of the Africa's biggest red carpet events. These include Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards in Nigeria (2016), Namibia Annual Music Awards, Ghana Movie Awards 2017, Ghana Music Awards 2016, Glitz Awards Ghana 2017, Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2016 among others.
