Ivan Ramesis Perez Mayrina (born December 23, 1976) is a Filipino broadcaster, journalist, reporter and news anchor. He is currently working in GMA Network. [2]

Early life

Mayrina was hailed from Angeles City and is currently living in Quezon City, after graduating in UP Diliman, he focused on his family life. [3]

He finished the secondary education at high school in Pampanga, his first tertiary education in Holy Angel University and graduated of broadcasting, and second tertiary education in University of the Philippines Diliman, with Bachelor of Arts in Communication Research at the College of Mass Communication and graduated in April 1997. [4]

Prior to his work in GMA Network, he was once a training officer at Ayala Life Insurance, Inc. in 1997.

Career

He started his broadcasting career at GMA Network in 2000. His first on-camera news report was on May 1, 2001, when he was asked to quickly substitute for journalist Jiggy Manicad who was injured by a rock that hit his head during the EDSA III riots along Mendiola Street. [5]

He is best known for being a host of the GMA News and Public Affairs shows 100% Pinoy! (2006–2007) and Pinoy Abroad (2005–2006), and a news anchor of QTV/Q's The Beat (formerly Sapulso) (2006–2011), News on Q (2005–2011) - all of which he was partnered with Rhea Santos (from 2005 to 2010) and Connie Sison (from 2010 to 2011), followed by the second tandem On Call: Serbisyong Totoo. Ngayon. (2011–2012); aired by GMA News TV (now GTV).

Aside from being a regular reporter of GMA News, he is currently a host and former segment producer of the morning show Unang Hirit (2000; since 2012), [6] and a news anchor of GMA Flash Report and News TV Live (now News Live ).

In May 2015, Mayrina anchored GMA Newsfeed, an interactive newscast which was broadcast nightly at 9PM on GMA News Facebook page until 2019, as he focused on hosting duties and replaced by various news reporters. [7]

He replaced Jiggy Manicad as the anchor for 24 Oras Weekend in August 2018 and as rejoins also Pia Arcangel. [8]

Personal life

Mayrina is married to Karen Tiongson, a GMA News Researcher in 2005. They have two children. [9] [10]

Maria Perpetua Concepcion "Connie" Sison Del Rosario-Escudero is a Filipino broadcast journalist, reporter, host and news anchor. She is an anchor of the GTV newscast Balitanghali since 2014, and was one of the hosts of GMA Network's morning show Unang Hirit from 2010 until 2023. She also hosts Pinoy M.D. and its radio counterpart on Super Radyo DZBB 594, Pinoy M.D. sa Dobol B. Her hosting skills in Pinoy M.D. got her a Bantog award for Media Practitioner in Television given by Department of Science and Technology in 2018.

Marie Grace Michelle "Mariz" Bade Umali-Tima, better known as Mariz Umali, is a Filipino television news anchor and journalist. She is known for being the main newscaster of the weekend edition of GMA News TV's Balitanghali. She finished broadcast communications course at the University of the Philippines Diliman but she started as a pharmacy student. She started to work at GMA Network as a researcher and producer of news content for the 2001 Philippine general elections. Besides Balitanghali, she also appeared as host or documentarian in other television shows such as i-Witness, Out of Control and Born to Be Wild. She also appears as one of the host of the Unang Hirit, GMA Network's morning show

Nathaniel Augustin Cruz, more popularly known as Mang Tani, is a Filipino meteorologist who formerly served as a meteorologist for PAGASA from 1982 to 2010. Cruz is also the former resident meteorologist of GMA Integrated News and a co-host of the network's morning show, Unang Hirit, from 2012 to 2022.
