The Government of Croatia,formally the Government of the Republic of Croatia,commonly abbreviated to Croatian Government,is the main executive branch of government in Croatia. It is led by the president of the Government,informally abbreviated to premier or prime minister. The prime minister is nominated by the president of the Republic from among those candidates who enjoy majority support in the Croatian Parliament;the candidate is then chosen by the Parliament. There are 20 other government members,serving as deputy prime ministers,government ministers or both;they are chosen by the prime minister and confirmed by the Parliament (Sabor). The Government of the Republic of Croatia exercises its executive powers in conformity with the Croatian Constitution and legislation enacted by the Croatian Parliament. The current government is led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
The Croatian Air Force is a branch of the Croatian Armed Forces whose primary task is to ensure the sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic of Croatia and to provide aviation support to other branches in the implementation of their tasks in joint operations. It is also the carrier and the organiser of the integrated anti-aircraft defence system of the Republic of Croatia.

With an unidentified operator and unknown destination,the origin of the drone is presumed to be connected to military actions during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The drone's flight over Croatia,Hungary and Romania prompted criticism of the countries' defense systems as the UAV was detected but not cleared. In response,the Croatian government restricted airspace over populous cities and received military support from France and the United States who dispatched multiple fighter-jets to Croatia days later for joint exercises.
