Spiderbait is an Australian alternative rock band from Finley, New South Wales, formed in 1989 by bass guitarist and singer Janet English, drummer and singer Kram, and guitarist Damian Whitty. In 2004 the group's cover version of the 1930s Lead Belly song "Black Betty" reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart. They have five top 20 albums: The Unfinished Spanish Galleon of Finley Lake (1995), Ivy and the Big Apples (1996), Grand Slam (1999), Tonight Alright (2004), and Greatest Hits (2005). The group have won two ARIA Music Awards with the first in 1997 as 'Best Alternative Release' for Ivy and the Big Apples and the second in 2000 as 'Best Cover-Art' for their single "Glockenpop". In November 2013 the band released its first studio album in nine years, Spiderbait.
J Wess Presents Tha LP is the debut album by American-Australian urban musician J-Wess, released in April 2004. The album reached the top twenty of the Australian albums chart and three songs from the album, "Bang This", "What Chu Want" and "Luv Ya", were top-20 hits in Australia.
Big Brovaz is an R&B and hip hop music group from London, England. In their seven-year career they released two studio albums and eight singles. There were three line-up changes with two of the original members leaving halfway through. In 2006, the only two female members launched their own band Booty Luv, which was taking off following the success of their debut single "Boogie 2nite". After their second album failed to chart and with low sales of their last two singles, the band decided to split. In May 2012, the four members from the third line-up reformed and toured Australia with S Club 3.

Subsequently, it spent a total of twenty-two weeks on the chart and was certified gold by ARIA for sales in excess of 35,000 copies. It is J-Wess' most successful single. In the New Zealand, "What chu want" peaked at number thirty-four on the RIANZ Singles Chart, becoming J-Wess' second single to peak within the top forty, and his highest single there also.

It remained on the ARIA charts for a relatively short five weeks, and went uncertified. Unlike its predecessors, it failed to chart on the New Zealand RIANZ singles chart. Contributing on the album; including rappers 2 Chainz, and Nicki Minaj, singer Ariana Grande, making guest appearances, and the addition to the album was the hip hop group De La Soul and the violinist Lindsey Stirling. Jessie co-wrote the album and worked with several producers such as The-Dream, Diplo, Tricky Stewart, Max Martin, Ammo and amongst the hosts of collaborators from both the new and the old.
