John Mattupurathu Raju is an Indian film singer and music composer in Malayalam cinema during the 1970s. [1] He made his debut with the movie Naadan Pennu in 1967. [2]
Raju was born on 1 January 1944 in Ernakulam, Kerala, as the son of the late John Mattupurathu and the late Mary John. He is married to Latha Raju, a Malayalam playback singer, who is the daughter of famous singers Santha P. Nair and K. Padmanabhan Nair. [3] [4] The couple have two children, Aalap Raju and Anupama. [5] Aalap Raju is also a playback singer. [6] [7] In 2015 Raju won the Kalashree Award from the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy.
Balakrishnan Nair, more popularly known as Balan K. Nair was an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam cinema. Although he appeared as a villain in most films, he was also noted for his performances in strong character roles. He emerged as one of the top villain of Malayalam cinema in the second half of the 1970s and played some of the best villain characters in Malayalam films during that period. Madhavan Raveendran, , fondly known as Raveendran Master, was a popular South Indian music composer and playback singer from Kerala. He composed songs for more than 150 films primarily for the Malayalam and Tamil film industries. He also composed a few albums, including Vasantha Geethangal, Ponnonatharangini and Rithugeethangal.
