CHU is the call sign of a shortwave time signal radio station operated by the Institute for National Measurement Standards of the National Research Council. CHU's signal is used for continuous dissemination of official Canadian government time signals, derived from atomic clocks.

It is located between the Swedish cities of Uppsala and Stockholm, at almost equal distance. Since 2009, the domes and telescopes of the Kvistaberg Observatory are part of a museum.
Ōizumi Observatory is a private astronomical observatory in Ōizumi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Takao Kobayashi has made discoveries of numerous minor planets at the observatory. Since its founding, Kobayashi has discovered 1,200 minor asteroids and their positions using a 10-inch (250 mm) telescope. Ōizumi observatory like many other observatories is in a relatively undisturbed place. One of the notable people to work at the observatory is Takao Kobayashi.
The Piszkéstető Station or Piszkéstető Mountain Station is an astronomical observatory in Mátraszentimre in Mátra Mountains, about 80 kilometers (50 mi) northeast of Hungary's capital Budapest. It was discovered by Japanese astronomers Akira Natori and Takeshi Urata at the JCPM Yakiimo Station on 23 November 1990. It was named for the Cheshire Cat from the novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
4547 Massachusetts is a dark background asteroid from the central regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 24 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 16 May 1990, by Japanese astronomers Kin Endate and Kazuro Watanabe at the JCPM Sapporo Station on the island of Hokkaido, Japan. The asteroid was named for the U.S. state of Massachusetts.

It was discovered by Japanese astronomers Akira Natori and Takeshi Urata at JCPM Yakiimo Station on 15 August 1991. The presumed carbonaceous C-type asteroid has a rotation period of 4.7 hours and measures approximately 36 kilometers (22 miles) in diameter. It was named after Taira no Tokiko (1126–1185) of the Imperial House of Japan during the Heian period.
5855 Yukitsuna, provisional designation 1992 UO2, is a stony Marian asteroid from the central regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 11 kilometers (7 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 26 October 1992, by Japanese astronomers Akira Natori and Takeshi Urata at the JCPM Yakiimo Station. The likely elongated S-type asteroid has a rotation period of 19 hours. It was named for Minamoto no Yukitsuna, a Japanese general during the Heian era.
