Jach'a Jipiña (Aymara jach'a big, jipiña squatting of animals, [2] 'big place where the animals crouch' or 'big resting place of animals', Hispanicized spelling Jachcha Jipina) is a 4,950-metre-high (16,240 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Jach'a Jipiña lies south-west of the lake Juri Quta. [1] [3]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

Cordillera Real (Bolivia) mountain range

The Cordillera Real is a mountain range in the South American Altiplano of Bolivia. This range of fold mountains, largely composed of granite, is located southeast of Lake Titicaca, and east of the Bolivian capital of La Paz, measuring 125 km in length and 20 km in width. Despite the fact that it is only 17° south of the Equator, the Cordillera Real is relatively densely glaciated. This is due to its proximity to the Amazon lowlands with its associated moist air masses.

The Andes or Andean Mountains are the longest continental mountain range in the world, forming a continuous highland along the western edge of South America. This range is about 7,000 km (4,300 mi) long, about 200 to 700 km wide, and of an average height of about 4,000 m (13,000 ft). The Andes extend from north to south through seven South American countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

Los Andes is one of the twenty provinces in the central parts of the Bolivian La Paz Department. The province was legally founded on November 24, 1917, during the presidency of José Gutiérrez Guerra. The Spanish name of the province means "The Andes", referring to its position within the Cordillera Real which is part of the Bolivian Andes mountain range. The capital of the province is Pucarani, which has a population of 918 as of the 2001 census. Pucarani is situated in the Altiplano west of the Cordillera Real offering a view of some of its highest mountains such as Ch'iyar Juqhu, Chachakumani, Kunturiri, Wayna Potosí and Chacaltaya.

Jacha Qullu (Los Andes)

Jach'a Qullu is a 5,298-metre-high (17,382 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Qullu is situated southwest of Jisk'a Pata and Jach'a Pata, southwest of Jach'a Juqhu and northwest of Wila Lluxi, Warawarani and Qala T'uxu.

Jacha Juqhu

Jach'a Juqhu is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,192 metres (17,034 ft) high. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Juqhu is situated south of the mountain Wari Umaña, south-west of Jisk'a Pata, north-west of Wila Lluxi and Warawarani, north of Qala T'uxu and north-east of Jach'a Qullu.

Jacha Tuxu

Jach'a T'uxu or Jach'a Tuqu is a 5,358-metre-high (17,579 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a T'uxu is situated southwest of Patapatani, northwest of Wari Sipitaña, southwest of T'uxu Loma and northeast of Wila Wilani.

Jacha Pata

Jach'a Pata is a 5,424-metre-high (17,795 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Pata lies south of Jisk'a Pata, west of Janq'u Uyu, north of Wila Lluxi and north-east of Warawarani.

Qullpani

Qullpani is a 4,926-metre-high (16,161 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Qullpani lies south of a lake named Juri Quta.

Chiyar Qullu (Los Andes)

Ch'iyar Qullu is a 4,778-metre-high (15,676 ft) mountain in the western extension of the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Ch'iyar Qullu lies southwest of Tuni Lake, between the rivers Kunturiri in the north and Tuni in the south.

Tira Qullu

Tira Qullu is a 4,832-metre-high (15,853 ft) mountain in the western extension of the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Tira Qullu lies between the lakes Sura Quta and Taypi Chaka Quta in the west and Juri Quta in the east. It is situated south-west of the mountains Jach'a Jipiña and Milluni.

Jacha Pukara

Jach'a Pukara is a mountain in the Andes of Bolivia, about 4,300 metres (14,108 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, Sorata Municipality. Jach'a Pukara lies between Lake Titicaca in the west and the Janq'u Uma-Illampu massif of the Cordillera Real in the east.

Salla Jipiña

Salla Jipiña is a 4,944-metre-high (16,220 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It lies in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality. Salla Jipiña is situated south-east of the mountains Ch'iyar Qirini and Chacaltaya.

Kuntur Jipiña

Kuntur Jipiña is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,260 metres (17,257 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department, at the border of the Larecaja Province, Guanay Municipality, and the Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. It lies west of the mountain Chachakumani and south-east of Wila Wila. The lakes Janq'u Quta and Jist'aña Quta are situated north-east and north-west of Kuntur Jipiña.

Jach'a Qullu is a 4,305-metre-high (14,124 ft) mountain in the Chilla-Kimsa Chata mountain range in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Ingavi Province, Jesús de Machaca Municipality. Jach'a Qullu lies near the Jach'a Jawira valley north-east of the archaeological site of Qhunqhu Wankani.

Jach'a Pukara is a 3,386-metre-high (11,109 ft) mountain in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Inquisivi Province, Quime Municipality. Jach'a Pukara lies at the river Chaka Jawira whose waters flow to the La Paz River in the north.

It is situated in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, in the south of the Guanay Municipality. Jach'a Pata lies north-west of the mountain Janq'u K'ark'a and south of the lake Qutapata (Kkota Pata).
