"Koleksi Gemilang" is a medley of 24 Malaysian songs, and is a tribute from Jac to the music industry. [2] Some of the 24 songs are Warisan Wanita Terakhir, Kau Ilham Ku, Kamelia, Sekadar Di Pinggiran, Terasing, Gadis Melayu, Di Sana Menanti Di Sini Menunggu, Menaruh Harapan, Aku Cinta Padamu and more.
Malaysian Idol is the Malaysian version of the Idol Series that started in UK, similar to shows such as UK's Pop Idol and American Idol in the franchise. This show is a contest to determine the best young singer in Malaysia, with the winner receiving a major record deal, although some runners-up have achieved enough fame to ink record deals of their own. Like any other Idol show, the winner is decided by public votes. The Malaysian Idol series has gained a following in Malaysia from people of all ages partly due to their interest in American Idol which had been introduced a few years prior. Malaysian Idol has been broadcast to Malaysian viewers via terrestrial television, 8TV and TV3.
Gemilang is an album released in 2005 by Jaclyn Victor, the first Malaysian Idol. This album has eleven tracks, including Tunggu Sekejap, When I Fall in Love and Gemilang, the three songs performed by Jaclyn Victor which eventually led to her winning the inaugural competition.
Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza binti Tarudin is a Malaysian singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman with more than 300 local and international awards. She made her debut after she won a local singing competition show Bintang HMI in 1995 when she was 16. Aubrey Suwito is a Malaysian pianist, keyboardist, songwriter, arranger and producer. Aubrey Suwito started his musical journey at the age of 6 and has since written songs for various artists, most notably Gemilang for Jaclyn Victor which won multiple awards including the Asian Music Festival and Anugerah Juara Lagu. He was the musical director on Malaysian Idol. Aubrey also worked as musical director for the hit reality television talent search competition One in a Million. He is also the older brother of singer/songwriter Juwita Suwito. And he is a composer of Akademi Fantasia and Akademi Fantasi Indosiar theme song, namely Menuju Puncak.
Vincent Chong Ying-Cern is a Malaysian Chinese, internationally known by his stage name Vince, is the first reality TV star to issue from Malaysian Akademi Fantasia. Beat the System is a Malaysian/American rock band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Formed in 2005 by lead guitarist Stewart Sellan. Currently the band consists of lead vocalist May Leigh, lead guitarist Stewart Sellan, drummer/composer Gerald Sellan and composer Adrian Puan.
