Jacob M. Wise was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served in the Pennsylvania State Senate,representing the 18th district from 1811 to 1818. During his tenure the 18th district represented Westmoreland County in Western Pennsylvania. [1]
Wise was a prominent supporter of Andrew Jackson and his family consisted of many important early Democrats in Western Pennsylvania. Frederick A. Wise,was the editor in chief of the pro-Jacksonian Westmoreland Republican ,and John A. Wise was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Jacob,and his aforementioned family members,were part of the committee that first nominated Jackson for president on December 23,1823,in front of Greensburg courthouse alongside David Marchand and James Clarke. Christopher Louis Jacobs is an American politician who represented New York's 27th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2020 to 2023. Jacobs served as the 62nd secretary of state of New York from April 2006 to January 2007. Beginning in 2012,he held the post of Erie County clerk,and he was a Republican member of the New York State Senate for the 60th district from 2017 to 2020. On June 23,2020,he won a special election to fill a congressional vacancy in the 27th district. He was reelected to a full term in November 2020.

Summer Lynn Lee is an American politician and community organizer serving as the U.S. representative for Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party,Lee served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 34th district from 2019 to 2022. With the support of the local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America,she defeated incumbent Paul Costa in the 2018 Democratic primary election with over 67% of the vote. Lee was the first black woman to represent Southwestern Pennsylvania in the state legislature.
The 2022 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election was held on November 8,2022,to elect the governor of Pennsylvania and lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. Democratic state attorney general Josh Shapiro defeated Republican state senator Doug Mastriano in a landslide victory to succeed term-limited incumbent Democratic governor Tom Wolf. Primaries were held on May 17,2022. Shapiro won the Democratic nomination after running unopposed and Mastriano won the Republican nomination with 44% of the vote. Mastriano's nomination drew attention due to his far-right political views.
