Jaden Malik Walley (born September 13, 2001) is an American football wide receiver for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Walley grew up in D'Iberville, Mississippi and attended D'Iberville High School where he lettered in football and baseball. In his high school career, Walley completed 68 of his 165 pass attempts for 1,162 yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions. Walley would also rush for 2,157 yards and 32 touchdowns, while also hauling in 19 receptions for 476 yards. [1] Walley was a three-star rated recruit and would decide to commit to play college football at Mississippi State University [2] over offers from Air Force, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Vanderbilt. [3]
During Walley's true freshman season in 2020, he appeared in all 11 games and started eight of them. [4] He finished the season with 52 catches for 718 yards and two touchdowns. [5] [6] During the 2021 season, he played in all 13 games and started 10 of them, finishing the season with 628 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 55 catches averaging 48.3 receiving yards per game and 11.4 per catch. [7] [8] During the 2022 season, he appeared in 13 games and started seven of them, finishing the season with 34 receptions for 348 yards and three touchdowns averaging 27.8 yards per game. [9] During the 2023 season, he appeared in 10 games and started two of them, finishing the season with five receptions for 49 yards and one touchdowns with four of his receptions going for a first down. [10] He was limited due to injuries. [11]
Walley is the cousin of former NFL cornerback, Dee McCann. His younger brother Justin is a cornerback for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. [11]
Todd Pinkston is a former American football wide receiver and current running backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles where he caught 184 passes for 2,816 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Eagles went to the playoffs every year that he started, including an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIX. He also is the cousin of former offensive lineman Jason Pinkston. He was inducted to the Southern Miss Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. Todd Pinkston was inducted into the Scott County Sports Hall of Fame in his hometown of Forest, Miss., in 2015.
D'Iberville High School is a suburban public high school located in D'Iberville, Mississippi, United States, with a Biloxi postal address. A new high school building was dedicated on March 15, 2009 at 15625 Lamey Bridge Road. The former high school building, located at 3320 Warrior Drive, is now D'Iberville Middle School. The high school is part of the Harrison County School District, serves 1,290 students as of the 2019–2020 school year, and consists of students from North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle, Creekbend Elementary/Middle, and D'Iberville Middle School.
