Jagdish Singh (born 1 July 1991) is an Indian cross-country skier, who represented India at 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. He competed in men's 15 km freestyle cross-country skiing. He qualified in the Olympics for the first time. [3] [4]
Singh joined the Indian Army in 2011. He received his training from Indian Army's High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir. [5] [6] He qualified in the 2018 Winter Olympics by securing just one point above the qualification mark, during an event in Finland. [5] [7] There was a bit controversy during appointment of his coach, however, just before the event, HAWS recommended Nadeem Iqbal, a former winter Olympian, as his coach. [5] [8]

Hubertus Rudolph zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, commonly known as Hubertus von Hohenlohe, is a Mexican alpine skier, photographer, and businessman. He was previously a pop singer using the names Andy Himalaya and Royal Disaster. He is descended from the royal family of the historic principality of Hohenlohe-Langenburg in what is now northeastern Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
India sent a delegation to compete at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy from 10–26 February 2006. This was the nation's seventh appearance in a Winter Olympic Games. The Indian delegation consisted of four athletes, two in alpine skiing, one in cross-country skiing, and one in luge. Their best performance in any event was 25th by luger Shiva Keshavan in the men's singles.
Shiva Keshavan, is a six-time Olympian and the first Indian representative to compete in luge at the Winter Olympic Games. He set a new Asian speed record at 134.3 km/h (83.5 mph) after beating the previous record of 131.9 km/h (82.0 mph) and won a gold medal in the 2011 Asian Luge Cup at Nagano in Japan.
