Clive Dym was a professor emeritus of Engineering Design and also Director of the Center for Design Education at Harvey Mudd College. He served as the chair of the engineering department at Harvey Mudd College from 1999 through 2002. He was a member of the Institute for Defense Analyses and National Academy of Engineering. He was awarded the Gordon Prize in 2012. He earned a BS from Cooper Union in 1962, an MS from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1964 and a PhD from Stanford University in 1967. Dym died May 3, 2016.
Talithia D. Williams is an American statistician and mathematician at Harvey Mudd College who researches the spatiotemporal structure of data. She was the first black woman to achieve tenure at Harvey Mudd College. Williams is an advocate for engaging more African Americans in engineering and science.
Rachel Levy is an American mathematician and blogger. She currently serves as the inaugural Executive Director of the North Carolina State University Data Science Academy. She was a 2020-21 AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow, serving in the United States Senate and sponsored by the American Mathematical Society. From 2018-2020 she served as deputy executive director of the Mathematical Association of America(2018-2020). As a faculty member at Harvey Mudd College from 2007-2019 her research was in applied mathematics, including the mathematical modeling of thin films, and the applications of fluid mechanics to biology. This work was funded by The National Science Foundation, Research Corporation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and US Office of Naval Research.
Harriet Black Nembhard is the President of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. From July 2020 through June 2023, she served as the Dean of the University of Iowa College of Engineering and the Roy J. Carver Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at that institution.
Dare Ann Baldwin is a scientist known for her research on learning mechanisms and early social skills of infants and young children. Baldwin is a professor of psychology at Oregon University. Baldwin is the recipient of various awards including the 1994 Boyd McCandless Award from Division 7 of the American Psychological Association, 1995 John Merck Scholars Award, 1997 APA Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology, 2006-2007 James McKeen Cattell Sabbatical Fellowship, 2006 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, 2006-2007 University of Oregon Fund for Faculty Excellence Award, and 2018 University of Oregon Faculty Research Award.
Scott L. Pratt is a professor of philosophy at the University of Oregon. His research and teaching is focused primarily upon American philosophy, especially in the areas of Native American philosophy, pragmatism, philosophy of race and gender, philosophy of education, and the history of logic. He has previously served in various administrative roles at the University of Oregon, including executive vice provost for academic affairs (2017–2019), dean of the graduate school (2015–2017), and associate dean for the humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences (2006–2009).
