James Charles Luker (born February 4, 1942) is an American politician and lawyer.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Luker received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He practiced law in Wynne, Arkansas and served as city attorney and mayor of Wynne, Arkansas. From 1995 to 2001, Luker served in the Arkansas House of Representatives. Then, from 2001 to 2011, Luker served in the Arkansas State Senate. Luker was a Democrat. [1] [2]

Cross County is a rural Northeast Arkansas county in the Arkansas Delta. Created as Arkansas's 53rd county on November 15, 1862, Cross County contains four incorporated municipalities, including Wynne, the county seat and most populous city. It is named for Confederate Colonel David C. Cross, a political leader in the area.
Wynne is the county seat and largest city of Cross County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 8,314 at the 2020 Census. Nestled between the Arkansas Delta and Crowley's Ridge, Wynne is the closest city to the second-largest state park in Arkansas, Village Creek State Park.
Thomas James Churchill was an American soldier and politician who served as the 13th governor of Arkansas from 1881 to 1883. Before that, he was a senior officer of the Confederate States Army who commanded infantry in the Western and Trans-Mississippi theaters of the American Civil War.

Rodney Earl Slater is an American politician of the Democratic Party who served as the United States Secretary of Transportation under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a public research university in Little Rock, Arkansas. Established as Little Rock Junior College by the Little Rock School District in 1927, the institution became a private four-year university under the name Little Rock University in 1957. It returned to public status in 1969 when it merged with the University of Arkansas System under its present name. The former campus of Little Rock Junior College is now (2019) the campus of Philander Smith University.

Wynne Senior High School, known as Wynne High School, is a public secondary school for students in grades nine through twelve located in Wynne, Arkansas, United States. It is one of two public high schools in Cross County and the sole high school administered by the Wynne School District. It was destroyed by a tornado on March 31, 2023.
The University of Arkansas School of Law is the law school of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, a state university. It has around 445 students enrolled in its Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Law (LL.M) programs and is home to the nation's first LL.M in agricultural and food law program. The School of Law is one of two law schools in the state of Arkansas; the other is the William H. Bowen School of Law.

James Paul Hendren is an American politician who served as a member of the Arkansas Senate from the 2nd district. From January 2019 to January 2021, he served as Senate Majority Leader. Until February 2021, he was a Republican; but he had left his party in the wake of the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol. He resides in Sulphur Springs in Benton County in Northwest Arkansas.
Robin French Wynne was an American judge. He served as a justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court from 2014 until his death. He had previously been a judge on the Arkansas Court of Appeals, District 5 from 2011 until being sworn into the Arkansas Supreme Court in 2015. Prior to serving on the Court of Appeals, he was the Dallas County District Judge between 2004 and 2010.
James Levesque "Jim" Shaver Jr. was an American politician. He was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, serving from 1961 to 1994. He also served from 1968 to 1971 as an assistant to Attorney General Joe Purcell. He was a member of the Democratic party.
Ronald Caldwell is an American politician and businessman. A Republican, he has served three terms in the Arkansas Senate, currently representing District 10, and previously District 23. He was first elected in 2012, and won his third and current term in 2020. Caldwell is the chairman of the Senate Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs, and is a member of several other committees.
