James Peter Hewitt (born 1976),known as Jamie Hewitt,is a former English professional cricketer. He played county cricket for Middlesex County Cricket Club and Kent County Cricket Club between 1995 and 2003 and later played minor counties cricket,as a seam bowling all-rounder. He was born in Southwark in London in 1976 and was educated at Richmond upon Thames College,Kingston College and City of Westminster College. [1]
Hewitt played for Middlesex's Second XI from 1994 before making his senior debut for the club in the Sunday League. He went on to make his first-class cricket debut in April 1996 against Oxford University at the University Parks. [2] He made his County Championship debut against Gloucestershire in May of the same year,taking a wicket with his first ball. [3] Hewitt went on to play in over 130 senior matches for Middlesex and was awarded his county cap in 1998. [2] [4] He was considered a "richly promising seamer" and took 60 wickets for the county in 1997,although his bowling form was thought to have "declined alarmingly" after 1998. [1] [4]
Injuries and issues with confidence reduced his effectiveness and in 2000 he did not play at all for Middlesex. [1] [5] He took 170 first-class wickets for the county, [2] his finest moment was taking 6/14 when he and Angus Fraser bowled out Glamorgan for 31 all out at Sophia Gardens in 1997. [3] [6]
Before the start of the 2001 season Hewitt was approached by Kent County Cricket Club with a view to him joining the club on a three-year contract. This was deemed to be an illegal approach and Kent were later fined. [4] [7] At the end of the 2001 season Hewitt did join Kent on a two-year contract,playing for the county during 2002 and 2003. [5] [8] He made only six senior appearances for the county before being released during the 2003 season. [1]
After leaving Kent,Hewitt was player-coach for Oxfordshire between 2005 and 2008, [9] [10] Hertfordshire from 2009 to 2012 and Bedfordshire during 2013 and 2014. [2] [11] [12] He set up his own coaching academy,is an ECB Level 4 coach and has been Performance Coach and Head of Development for Hertfordshire. [13] [14] [15] [16] In 2014 he began working at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in London coaching cricket and building partnerships between Middlesex and the school. [15] [16] [17] As of August 2017 he remained in this role. [18]

James Cullum Tredwell is an English former international cricketer. A left-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler,he played his domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and was appointed as County Captain for the 2013 season. He made his debut for Kent in the 2001 season,nine days before his first appearance for England Under-19s. He often fielded at slip. Tredwell was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
Minal Mahesh Patel is a retired Indian-born English cricketer who made two appearances in Test cricket for the England cricket team. He was a right-handed batsman and a slow left arm bowler,who primarily played for Kent County Cricket Club. As of 2018 he is the Second XI coach at Kent.
Simon James Cook is an English cricket administrator and former professional cricketer. A right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Middlesex and Kent County Cricket Clubs between 1999 and 2012. Cook batted right handed. Following his playing career he worked in a number of coaching roles including as head coach of the Hong Kong cricket team from 2015 to 2019 and was appointed director of cricket by Kent in 2023.

Mitchell Eric Claydon is an Australian-English former first-class cricketer. Although he was born at Fairfield,New South Wales he holds a British passport. Claydon is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Claydon most recently played for Sussex County Cricket Club. In July 2021,Claydon announced that he would retire from cricket at the end of the 2021 season.

William John Fairservice was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club between 1902 and 1921. He was a right-arm medium-pace off-break bowler who batted in the lower order and played over 300 first-class matches in his career. After his cricketing career he coached cricket and was a scorer. His son,Colin Fairservice,played for Kent and Middlesex from 1929 to 1936.
Harry William Podmore is an English professional cricketer who plays for Glamorgan County Cricket Club. A right-arm medium-fast bowler who bats right-handed,he played youth cricket for Middlesex and made his debut for the county in 2014 before spending time on loan with Glamorgan,Durham and Derbyshire over the next two seasons. He made his first-class cricket debut on 1 May 2016 in the 2016 County Championship and played for Kent between 2018 and 2022;he was awarded his county cap in 2019 and left the county at the end of the 2022 season,moving to Glamorgan.
In 2017,Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division Two of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the NatWest t20 Blast. In addition,before the start of the English cricket season,Kent competed in the 2016–17 Regional Super50,the List A competition of the West Indian domestic season. This was the first time that any English county had competed in an overseas domestic competition. The invitation to take part in the tournament was largely due to the influence of former West Indian captain Jimmy Adams who had been Kent's Head Coach until September 2016.
Joseph Glyn Owen was a Welsh first-class cricketer active from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. A left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler,Owen played in over a dozen first-class cricket matches,as well as playing minor counties cricket for Surrey and Bedfordshire.

The county finished second in Division Two of the Championship and were promoted to Division One for the 2019 season. In addition,before the start of the English cricket season,Kent competed in the 2017–18 Regional Super50,the List A competition of the West Indies domestic season,reaching the semi-final stage. This was the second time that Kent have competed in the competition,having played in the 2016–17 competition.
