Life and bodybuilding career

Jamo Nezzar was born in Batna, Algeria on December 6, 1966. At a young age, Jamo was always interested in health and sports, and eventually led to studying biology. After completing his degree in biology, Jamo entered the pre-med program at the Dergana University in Algeria, soon realizing that his passion was for bodybuilding and personal training.

With this realization and newfound direction he began a 22-year journey into professional bodybuilding. In 1987, Jamo moved to London to seriously pursue bodybuilding, until 1994 he focused on training and competition, allowing him to travel the world. During his travels Jamo also worked with others as a fitness consultant.

During his bodybuilding career, more than 100 articles have been written about Jamo's training style and nutritional philosophy, and he has appeared on the covers of more than 27 fitness magazines including Musclemag, Pump, Body Fitness, Muscle and Fitness and Sports Review. In addition, Jamo has been featured in television programs both in Europe and in the United States, including BBC2, Sky Sport, American Muscle, ESPN and “Lifestyle at Muscle Beach” on the Discovery Channel.

In 2001, Jamo moved to Southern California to further his career as an International Federation of BodyBuilders professional and fitness specialist. During this time his personal training efforts and development of JamCore Training were solidified into a successful system. Jamo retired from competition in 2003 and focused on helping others lead fit, healthy lives. His dynamic personality and unique personal training system take him all over the world, working with many different people. His ability to fluently speak English, French and Arabic has been a great asset throughout his life.

Company

After retiring from professional bodybuilding due to injury in 2003, Jamo founded JamCore Training, a company specializing in personal training. During this time, Jamo developed the JamCore Training system, an innovative program that offered online fitness, health and nutrition information—one of the first of its kind.

In 2006, Jamo became a pioneer in the fitness industry by creating the first downloadable video fitness and workout application focused on core exercises, available for both computers and video iPods when the device was first released.

JamCore Training,at the time was based in Ventura, Southern California, grew to include 1,776 members across the United States.

Jamo working with Incendia Media then took JamCore Training and created a great new Health & Fitness Social Network called MyFitTribe.com. The extended capabilities, great features, friendly community and MyFitTribe Team giving great Health & Fitness information in articles, videos, pictures, blogs with all the features of a social network. A number of top athletes and fitness enthusiasts from a wide variety of disciplines such as swimming, surfing, soccer, football, water polo, volleyball and martial arts.

In 2008, Jamo decided to specialize in a new niche: women’s training. He recognized the need to excel in this area, understanding that training women required a different approach. As Jamo put it, "Anyone who says that training a woman is the same as training a man hasn’t fully grasped the differences between the two. Women not only tend to be more emotional, but they also require more attention and specific programs to target the areas they want to improve."

After four years of focusing on this niche, Jamo was approached by the organizers of the Miss California and Miss USA beauty pageants to train their competitors. His expertise played a pivotal role in helping Nicole Johnson win Miss California USA 2010 and Alyssa Campanella before she went on to become Miss USA 2011.

In 2012, Jamo spent two years preparing IFBB Bikini competitors for their competitions while simultaneously developing the JCSWEAT20 workout—a home-based program designed for women to achieve optimal results. During this time, he also opened his first official gym, JamCore Gym, in Westlake Village. This gym became the headquarters for his expanding business, where he led a team of trainers to further develop his fitness philosophy and assist clients from all walks of life.

In 2014, as a trilingual speaker (English, French, and Arabic), Jamo was approached to start a French-speaking YouTube channel. Initially, the idea didn't appeal to him, as he humorously remarked, "Leave me alone, guys—I haven't spoken French in a while!" However, he decided to take on the project for fun.

Today, JamCore is one of the leading French fitness YouTube channels globally, boasting over 700K followers and continuing to grow every day. His unique content creation style on Fitness and Training education is recognized worldwide, particularly in French-speaking countries. The success of his YouTube channel has allowed him to travel the world, sharing his knowledge and philosophy on training and nutrition.

In 2021, Jamo launched the JC Elite Academy, an institution dedicated to developing some of the world’s top elite trainers. Based on the island of Mauritius, the academy continues to grow each year, attracting hundreds of students. Its mission is to provide aspiring trainers with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the rapidly evolving fields of online coaching and personal training.
