Jan Chvojka (born 17 December 1980) is a Czech politician and former member of the Chamber of Deputies, from 2017 until 2021. He served as Minister of Human Rights between December 2016 and 2017. [1]

Thaddus Dewayn McFadden Jr. is an American-Georgian professional basketball player for Casademont Zaragoza of the Spanish Liga ACB. Standing at 1.88 m (6'2"), he plays at both guard positions. He played two years of JUCO college basketball at St. Clair County CC, and two years of Division II college basketball at Fairmont State, where he later went into the Fairmont State Hall of Fame. McFadden then entered the 2009 NBA draft, but he was not selected in the draft's two rounds. McFadden has won three Cypriot League championships.
Plzeň municipal election in 2014 was held as part of 2014 Czech municipal elections. It was held on 10 and 11 October 2014. ANO 2011 received the highest number of votes but Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) won the same number of seats in the City's assembly. Civic Democratic Party ruled in Plzeň more than 20 years but was expected to lose its positions and receive only 10% of votes. In an electoral upset, ODS received more than 17%. Leader of local Civic Democrats Martin Baxa said that he believes that ODS was the actual victor of the election. Voter turnout was 33.73%.
A leadership election for the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) was held in 2018 following the 2017 legislative election. Jan Hamáček was elected the new leader of the party, defeating Jiří Zimola in the second round.
Ortel is a Czech rock band from Plzeň, led by its namesake, Tomáš Ortel. Prone to controversy, they have been described in the media as xenophobic. In 2015 and 2016, they won second place in the Group category of the Český slavík awards.
