The Civic Democratic Party is a conservative and economic liberal political party in the Czech Republic. The party sits between centre-right and right-wing on the political spectrum,and holds 34 seats in the Chamber of Deputies,and is the second strongest party by number of seats following the 2021 election. It is the only political party in the Czech Republic that has maintained an uninterrupted representation in the Chamber of Deputies.
The SNK European Democrats is a political party in the Czech Republic,led by Zdeňka Marková. The first regular chairperson of this party was Jana Hybášková. In Czech politics,Klausism refers to the political positions of Václav Klaus,former prime minister and president of the Czech Republic. It was first used by Mirek Topolánek,who designated Klausism as the ideology of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). This term was also used by former Prague mayor Jan Kasl. Klaus himself does not take issue with the term. The current usage of the term "Klausism" has become distanced from Klaus himself,leading to the phrase "Klausism without Klaus". The term "Klausism" is also frequently used as a label for the neologisms invented by Klaus. Klaus himself used the term "Mental Scheme of ODS",which he allegedly invented by chance. This term was also used by Jan Kasl.

Election of the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic was held on 14 November 2018. It was held after 2018 Senate election. Civic Democratic Party nominated Jaroslav Kubera,Mayors and Independents nominated Jan Horník and Christian and Democratic Union –Czechoslovak People's Party nominated Václav Hampl. Incumbent President Milan Štěch doesn't seek reelection. It was the first time in the history of the Senate that more than 2 candidates run for the position. Senate factions usually came to an agreement about the new President in the past.

Senate elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 September 2022 alongside municipal elections. The election were won by the Spolu alliance consisting of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS),KDU-ČSL and TOP 09 which won 20 seats. The ODS was the most successful party,winning eight seats.
