Janes Fighting Ships is an annual reference book of each country's navy and coast guard, along with their weapons and aircraft. Included are ship names, construction data, size, speed, range, complement, engineering, armament, and sensors. This is generally followed by relevant commentary. Originally, it was illustrated with ink sketches done by founder, Fred T. Jane (1865-1916). It is his surname "Jane" that makes this title distinctive.

The AN/APG-78 Longbow is a millimeter-wave fire-control radar (FCR) system for the AH-64D/E Apache attack helicopter. It was initially developed in the 1980s as the Airborne Adverse Weather Weapon System (AAWWS) as part of the Multi-Stage Improvement Program (MSIP) to enhance the AH-64A. By 1990, both AAWWS and MSIP were renamed Longbow. The radar is produced by Longbow LLC, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.
HMAS Diamantina, named after the Diamantina River, is a Huon-class minehunter currently serving in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Built by a joint partnership between Australian Defence Industries (ADI) and Intermarine SpA, Diamantina was constructed at ADI's Newcastle shipyard, and entered service in 2000.

His book, Speechless Brothers, was the first comprehensive study of llama husbandry published in the United States.
The Type 63 multiple rocket launcher is a towed, 12-tube, 107mm rocket launcher produced by the People's Republic of China in the early 1960s and later exported and manufactured globally. Although no longer serving with active infantry units, the Type 63 is still in People's Liberation Army service with specialized formations such as mountain infantry units and special forces detachments. The Type 63 was widely used in the PLA until the late 1980s. It was adopted as the successor of the Type 50-5 of 102mm.

Published by Jane's Information Group, a subsidiary of IHS Inc., it purports to be "the most comprehensive military communications information resource available." The former European editor of the Journal of Electronic Defense, John Williamson, was appointed editor in 1984. Previously R. J. Raggett was the editor.

Christopher Frank Foss is a British military information author. Between 1970-2017, he worked for the military information publisher Jane's Information Group as editor of Janes Armour and Artillery, Jane’s Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Jane's AFV System Upgrades and co-editor of other Jane's editions such as Jane’s Artillery and Air Defence and Jane's Military Vehicles and Logistics. After stepping back in late 2017, Foss stayed on as a Consulting Editor with Janes for Jane's Defence Weekly and Jane's International Defence Review until late 2021. Since then he has continued writing articles for other military information publishers such as Shepard Media. During his career at Janes he was responsible for launching Jane’s Defence Review which later spun off into Jane's Soviet Intelligence Review and later Jane's Intelligence Review.
