Janine Marie Freeman (born 12 June 1965) is a former Western Australian politician.

Freeman was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for the newly created seat of Mirrabooka on 9 March 2013.

Freeman was first elected to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for the new seat of Nollamara on 6 September 2008. [1]

Freeman holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Superannuation). Freeman has spent her career representing working people and their families. From March 2005 to January 2007, Freeman was the Assistant State Secretary of UnionsWA. Freeman has been UnionsWA Assistant Secretary; a Senior Industrial Officer with the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers' Union now known as United Voice; a Member of the WA WorkCover Board, and Deputy Chair of the industry superannuation fund, HESTA.

In November 2020, Freeman announced she would retire from politics at the 2021 Western Australian state election. [2]

Liza Mary Harvey is an Australian politician who was the Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2008 to 2021, representing the seat of Scarborough. She was a minister in the government of Colin Barnett, and in 2016 was appointed deputy premier, becoming the first woman to hold the position. She became Leader of the Opposition after being elected unopposed to replace Mike Nahan as state Liberal leader on 13 June 2019. On 22 November 2020, she resigned as Liberal leader and was replaced by Zak Kirkup. She lost her seat at the 2021 election.

The 2017 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 11 March 2017 to elect members to the Parliament of Western Australia, including all 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 36 seats in the Legislative Council. The eight-and-a-half-year two-term incumbent Liberal–WA National government, led by Premier Colin Barnett, was defeated in a landslide by the Labor opposition, led by Opposition Leader Mark McGowan.

Samuel Mathew Piantadosi was an Australian union official and politician. A senior Western Australian union official and the founding chairman of the Ethnic Communities Council in the 1980s, he was elected as a Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Council at the 1983 state election. His election made him the first post-war Italian migrant to be elected to the Parliament of Western Australia. He was re-elected in 1989, but resigned from the Labor Party in 1996, late in his second term, after reading newspaper reports that party figures were suggesting he would retire. He subsequently resigned from the Legislative Council several months short of the conclusion of his term in an unsuccessful attempt to contest the Legislative Assembly seat of Yokine as an independent at the 1996 state election. He returned to politics in 2007 as a councillor and later Deputy Mayor of the Town of Bassendean, and held the latter role until his death.

The 2021 Western Australian state election was conducted on Saturday 13 March 2021 to elect members to the Parliament of Western Australia, where all 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 36 seats in the Legislative Council were up for election.

The 2021 United States state legislative elections will be held on November 2, 2021. Three legislative chambers in two states will hold regularly-scheduled elections. These off-year elections will coincide with other state and local elections, including gubernatorial elections in both states.
