Janine Nakao (born March 14, 1987 in Marina, California) is a judoka from United States.
Founded on June 3, 1770, Monterey was the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico until 1850. Monterey hosted California's first theater, public building, public library, publicly funded school, printing press, and newspaper. Monterey was the only port of entry for taxable goods in California. In 1846, the U.S. flag was raised over the Customs House, and California became part of the United States after the Mexican–American War.

Marina is a city in Monterey County, California, United States. The United States Census Bureau estimated its 2013 population at 20,370. Marina is located along the central coast of California, 8 miles (13 km) west of Salinas, and 8 miles north of Monterey. Her biggest international success is winning silver medal at 2010 Pan American Judo Championships. She won the USA Judo National Championships in 2008 and 2009 in -63kg weight category. In 2010 became 3rd. She again won the National Championships in 2011 and 2015 in the -63kg weight division.

James A. Pedro is a retired American judo competitor who won multiple World Championships and multiple bronze medals in the Olympics and World Championships. He was born October 30, 1970 in his hometown of Danvers, Massachusetts, and was trained by his father James Pedro Sr., a 1976 Olympic Alternate. He is a Shichidan, and also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Economics and OBM from Brown University. His favorite judo technique is Sode Tsuri Komi Goshi, and his most effective is Juji Gatame.
Elisabeth Willeboordse is a female judoka from the Netherlands, who won the title in the women's –63 kg division at the 2005 European Championships. A year later, when Tampere, Finland hosted the event, she was defeated in the semi-finals by eventual gold medallist Sarah Clark from Great Britain, and had to be satisfied with the bronze medal in her weight division. In 2010, she regained her European title, defeating Edwige Gwend in the final.
Claudia Heill was an Austrian judoka best known for winning the silver medal in the half-middleweight (63 kg) division at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
