The Japan Warriors was a tennis team based in Japan which competed in the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL). It is fifth team to join the tennis league and first participated at the 2015 season. [1]

James Michael Ray McAdoo is an American professional basketball player for the Sun Rockers Shibuya of the B.League in Japan. He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels, and twice earned second-team all-conference honors in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). McAdoo won two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors. He has also played in various international leagues, including the EuroCup, Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL), and ABA League.
Treat Conrad Huey is a Filipino-American former tennis player who represented the Philippines in international competitions. Huey specialized in doubles and reached eighteen finals, winning 8 titles on the ATP World Tour. He won titles at the 2012 Citi Open, 2013 Swiss Indoors, and 2014 Aegon International alongside Dominic Inglot, 2015 Estoril Open with Scott Lipsky, 2015 St. Petersburg Open and 2015 Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur with Henri Kontinen, 2016 Abierto Mexicano Telcel with Max Mirnyi and the 2017 Los Cabos Open with Juan Sebastián Cabal. He turned professional in 2008 and he started representing the Philippines in the Davis Cup and the Southeast Asian Games in 2009.

On 14 November 2015, the V Chennai Warriors franchise was unveiled by Vijay Amritraj, founder of the Champions Tennis League. The team is owned by Prabhu Deva, a renowned actor and Ishari K Ganesh, founder Chairman and Chancellor of the Vels University in Chennai. The players who represented this team in the 2015 season were Rainer Schuettler, Fernando Verdasco, Heather Watson and Vishnu Vardhan. The 2015 tournament began on 23 November and ended on 6 December with the V Chennai Warriors finishing last in Group B with one win and three losses from four games. Group B also had the likes of Hyderabad Aces and Nagpur Orangers.
