Michel Jazy is a French former middle-distance runner and long-distance runner. The Guam delegation included only one athlete biathlete, Judd Bankert, who became Guam's first Olympic athlete. In his only event, the sprint, Bankert finished in 71st out of 72 competitors.
The men's individual road race was an event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. There were 154 participants from 61 nations, with 84 cyclists completing the race. The maximum number of cyclists per nation was three. The event was won by Fabio Casartelli of Italy, the nation's first victory in the men's individual road race since 1968 and fourth overall. Erik Dekker's silver was the first medal for the Netherlands in the event since 1972. Dainis Ozols gave Latvia its first medal in the event in the country's first independent appearance since 1936.
El Salvador first competed in the Olympic Games at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico. It has participated in every Games of the Olympiad since that time, excluding those held in 1976 and 1980, when the nation joined the American-led boycott in protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. They have never competed in the Olympic Winter Games. El Salvador has not earned a medal at any Olympic Games.

The event was won by Herb Elliott of Australia, the nation's second victory in the 1500 metres and first since 1896. Michel Jazy of France took silver, the third time a French athlete had achieved that mark. Hungary won its first 1500 metres medal with István Rózsavölgyi's bronze.

Jean Wadoux is a retired French middle-distance runner. He competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics in 1500 m and at the 1968 Summer Olympics in 5000 m and finished in ninth place on both occasions. On 23 July 1970 he set a European record in 1500 m, and next year won a European silver medal in 5000 m.
Derek Horton is a Guam cross-country mountain biker and road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team EuroCyclingTrips Pro Cycling.
Juliana Gaviria Rendon is a Colombian track cyclist, born in La Ceja. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's team sprint, women's keirin, and Women's sprint. She also competed in the women's sprint at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the elder sister of track and road cyclist Fernando Gaviria. She is married to fellow track cyclist Fabián Puerta.
John Dean is a New Zealand former cyclist. He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Philam Garcia is a Guam sprinter. He competed in the men's 100 metres at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
