Jean-Luc Boulay CQ (born 1955) is a French-born chef, restaurateur and television personality who emigrated to Canada in 1976, and founded his first restaurant Le Saint-Amour in Quebec City with his business partner Jacques Fortier in 1978, which over the years was repeatedly honoured and is recognized as one of the best fine dining restaurants in Quebec and Canada, specializing in local products such as foie gras, and also known as Paul McCartney’s favourite restaurant in town. [2] [3] [4] [5] In April 2012, he opened with chef Arnaud Marchand a Nordic-inspired restaurant, Chez Boulay - Bistro boréal, located on rue Saint-Jean, a lively street of Old Quebec. [6] [7] [8] In April 2019, he also opened the restaurant Les Botanistes which pays particular homage to plant-based dishes, with his business partners Pierre Joubaud and Arnaud Marchand. [9] [10]

Along with Normand Laprise and Pasquale Vari, Jean-Luc Boulay is one of the three permanent judges on Quebec’s top cooking competition TV show Les chefs!, which has been broadcast on ICI Radio-Canada Télé since 2010 for 13 seasons, and hosted by Élyse Marquis et Daniel Vézina. Boulay's recognition and awards include being named French Master Chef (Maître cuisiner de France) in March 2012, Officer to the Ordre National du Mérite Agricole in France in 2017, [17] [18] [19] [20] and Chevalier to the Ordre national du Québec in 2024. [21]

The Parliament Building of Quebec is an eight-floor structure and is home to the National Assembly of Quebec, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Parliament Building was designed by architect Eugène-Étienne Taché in a Second Empire style and built between 1877 and 1886, in the heart of Quebec's Parliament Hill. The National Assembly first met there on March 27, 1884, even though the building was only fully completed two years later, on April 8, 1886. From the 1910s to the 1930s, the government built several adjacent buildings to expand its office spaces, creating a parliamentary complex, of which the Parliament Building is the main edifice. This structure is a successor of several earlier buildings, the earliest of which was built in 1620 and among which there were two other parliament houses that served as legislatures.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Azilda Lapierre Marchand</span>

Azilda Lapierre Marchand was a Québécoise teacher and women's rights advocate, who worked to change the perception of women and their roles in French-Canadian society. Recognizing that many women worked as unpaid labourers either within the family or within family businesses, she became a vocal advocate for their service to be recognized as valuable. A founding member of the Women's Association for Education and Social Action, she served as president of the organization between 1970 and 1975. Participating in numerous international conferences and government commissions, she advocated for improved access to education and civil participation by women. She was a recipient of the Order of Canada and honoured as a knight in the National Order of Quebec.

Anne Desjardins is a Canadian chef and Knight of the National Order of Quebec. She is known for her use of and promotion of local ingredients and produce in her cooking.

Municipal elections were held in Quebec City on November 7, 2021, the same day as elections in Montreal and other municipalities in the province.
