Jean-Luc Chabanon is a French chess grandmaster.
In 1990, Chabanon played for France at the 29th Chess Olympiad. [1]
In July 2002, Chabanon finished third in the Paris Chess Championship. [2]
Chabanon won the 2002-03 edition of the Reggio Emilia chess tournament.
In February 2015, Chabanon finished second in the Clermont-Ferrand International Chess Tournament, behind winner Jean-Pierre Le Roux and ahead of Kamran Shirazi and Anthony Kosten on tiebreaks. [3]
In the first round of the 2022 French League, Chabanon blundered a winning position into a stalemate against FIDE Master Floryan Eugène. [4]
Judit Polgár is a Hungarian chess grandmaster, widely regarded as the strongest female chess player of all time. In 1991, Polgár achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, at the time the youngest to have done so, breaking the record previously held by former world champion Bobby Fischer. She was the youngest player ever to break into the FIDE top 100 players rating list, ranking No. 55 in the January 1989 rating list, at the age of 12.

Koneru Humpy is an Indian chess player best known for winning the FIDE Women's rapid chess championship in 2019. In 2002, she became the youngest woman ever to achieve the title of Grandmaster (GM) at the age of 15 years, 1 month, 27 days, beating Judit Polgár's previous record by three months. In October 2007, Humpy became the second female player, after Polgár, to exceed the 2600 Elo rating mark, being rated 2606.
Pentala Harikrishna is an Indian chess grandmaster. He became the youngest grandmaster from India after attaining the title in 2001, a record now held by Gukesh D. He was Commonwealth Champion in 2001, World Junior Champion in 2004, and Asian Individual Champion in 2011. He is currently third highest rated player in India. Harikrishna won the Tata Steel Group B in 2012 and the Biel MTO Masters Tournament Open event in 2013. He represented India at seven Chess Olympiads from 2000 to 2012 and won team Bronze at the World Team Chess Championships in 2010. At the Asian Team Championships, Harikrishna won team gold once, team silver twice and individual bronze once.

The Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting was until 2020 an elite chess tournament held every summer in Dortmund, Germany. Dortmund was an invite-only event, with the exception that one slot at Dortmund was awarded to the winner of the annual Aeroflot Open in Moscow. The World Open chess tournament is an annual open chess tournament played in most editions in Philadelphia and some editions in New York City. The inaugural event was a huge success played in New York in 1973 with 732 participants, and was won by Walter Browne.
Nikita Kirillovich Vitiugov is a Russian chess grandmaster who internationally represents England as of September 2023. He changed federations in response to the Russia-Ukraine war. He was a member of the victorious Russian team at the World Team Chess Championship in 2009 and 2013. Vitiugov won the Gibraltar Masters tournament in 2013 and the Grenke Open in 2017. Vitiugov won the 2021 Russian Chess Championship.

The France Women's Sevens is an annual women's rugby sevens tournament, and was one of the stops on the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. France joined in the fourth year of the Series. As of the current 2019–20 season, the tournament is held at Stade Jean-Bouin in Paris, having returned to that venue after one edition at Parc des Sports Aguiléra in Biarritz. It had originally been held in Clermont-Ferrand, and later moved to Stade Jean-Bouin.
