Matthieu Cornette (born 4 September 1985) is a French chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2008. He won the French Chess Championship in 2016.
Cornette was born in Bègles on 4 September 1985. [1] He learned to play chess at school at the age of 11. He made quick progress and won the French U18 and U20 Championships. At age 18, he decided to become a professional chess player. [2] Beginning in 2008, he received coaching from Josif Dorfman. [1] Cornette earned his grandmaster title in 2008. [1] In 2009, he represented France at the 17th European Team Chess Championship. Playing on the fourth board, he scored 2/6 (+1–3=2). [3] He won the French Chess Championship in 2016, held in Agen. [4] In 2019, he won the 27th Saint-Affrique Open, with a score of 8/9. [5] He had previously placed second in the tournament in 2016, and tied for first in 2018. Pentala Harikrishna is an Indian chess grandmaster. He became the youngest grandmaster from India after attaining the title in 2001, a record now held by Gukesh D. He was Commonwealth Champion in 2001, World Junior Champion in 2004, and Asian Individual Champion in 2011. He is currently third highest rated player in India. In 2019 he won clear first at the Third Edition of the Shenzhen Masters, deemed by some to be his first supertournament victory.

Molner won the Denker Tournament of High School Champions as a sophomore in 2004. He completed his final grandmaster norm in 2013, tying for first in the U.S. Open Chess Championship, held near Madison, Wisconsin that year.
