Jeanne Fox is the former President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. She was originally appointed to the position in 2002 by former Gov. James McGreevey and was retained in the Cabinets of former Gov. Richard Codey and Gov. Jon Corzine. [1] Fox retired from the NJ BPU in September 2014 and was succeeded by Upendra J. Chivukula.
Fox was the first former BPU staffer to become a commissioner on the BPU. In the 1980s,Fox held several positions with the agency in water management. Prior to her positions at the BPU,she was an election lawyer for the New Jersey Department of State. From 1991 to 1994 she served under former Gov. James Florio as Deputy Commissioner of Environmental Protection and Energy and for several months at the end of Florio's term as Acting Commissioner of Environmental Protection and Energy. In addition she represented New Jersey on several interstate boards while at the DEP. From 1994 to 2001 she served as Regional Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the administration of President Bill Clinton.
Christine Temple Whitman is an American politician and author who served as the 50th governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001 and as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2003. As of 2024,Whitman is the only woman to have served as governor of New Jersey.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) is a regulatory authority in New Jersey "with authority to oversee the regulated utilities,which in turn provide critical services such as natural gas,electricity,water,telecommunications and cable television. The law requires the Board to ensure safe,adequate,and proper utility services at reasonable rates for customers." NJBPU regulates natural gas,electricity,water,telecommunications and cable television services. NJBPU's five-member Board addresses issues of consumer protection,energy reform,deregulation of energy and telecommunications services and the restructuring of utility rates to encourage energy conservation and competitive pricing in the industry. NJBPU monitors utility service and responds to consumer complaints.

Christie won the election,with about 48.5 percent of the vote,to 44.9 percent for Corzine and 5.8 percent for Daggett. He assumed office on January 19,2010. This was the first election to fill the newly created office of lieutenant governor,with the candidates for governor choosing their running mates. Kim Guadagno,Christie's running mate,became New Jersey's first lieutenant governor following her inauguration.
A general election was held in the U.S. state of New Jersey on November 3,2009. Primary elections were held on June 2. Most state positions were up in this election cycle,which includes all 80 seats in the New Jersey General Assembly,as well as Governor and Lieutenant Governor. In addition to the State Legislative elections,numerous county offices and freeholders in addition to municipal offices were up for election. There was one statewide ballot question. Some counties and municipalities may have had local ballot questions as well. Wind power in New Jersey is in the early stages of development. New Jersey has just six wind turbines,but the state has plans to develop several major offshore wind projects on the continental shelf of the Atlantic Ocean off the southern Jersey Shore.
