Jacob Jeffery Bronkey (born September 18,1965) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who pitched with the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers. He attended Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls,Oregon and became Player of the Year and won a state championship in 1983. [1]
He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1983,but instead attended Oklahoma State University. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins organization in 1986. After his career,he pursued a college degree in psychology and his daughter is a softball player at the University of Arkansas. [1]
He is the only Major League player born in Afghanistan. [2] He was born in Kabul to an American mother and Afghan father. [3]
Timothy Paul Stoddard is an American former professional baseball pitcher. A right-handed pitcher,he played for six different teams in Major League Baseball between 1975 and 1989,and was a member of the 1983 Baltimore Orioles championship team. He is currently the pitching coach for the baseball team at North Central College. Stoddard is one of only two men to have played in both a World Series and a Final Four of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship,along with fellow East Chicago Washington High School alumnus Kenny Lofton.
