Mongolia sent a delegation to compete at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, United States from 8–24 February 2002. This was Mongolia's tenth time participating in a Winter Olympic Games. The delegation consisted of four athletes, two cross-country skiers; Davaagiin Enkhee and Jargalyn Erdenetülkhüür, as well as two short-track speed skating competitors; Battulgyn Oktyabri and Ganbatyn Jargalanchuluun. Erdenetülkhüür placed 63rd in the men's 15 kilometre classical cross-country race; he was the only one of the four to compete in an event final.
Finland first participated at the Olympic Games in 1908, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games and every Winter Olympic Games since then. Finland was also the host nation for the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Finnish athletes have won a total of 302 medals at the Summer Games, mostly in athletics and wrestling. Finland has also won 162 medals at the Winter Games, mostly in nordic skiing events.
Curtis Palmer Stevens was an American bobsledder who competed in the 1930s. He won the gold medal in the two-man event at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.
Slovenia first participated as an independent nation at the Olympic Games at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, and the country has sent athletes to compete at every Games since then. The Slovenian Olympic Committee was established in 1991 and was recognised by the International Olympic Committee on 5 February 1992.
Albania first participated at the Summer Olympic Games in 1972. They missed the next four games, two of them due to the 1980 and 1984 boycotts, but returned for the 1992 games in Barcelona. They have appeared in all games since then. They made their Winter Olympic Games debut in 2006. Albania normally competes in events that include swimming, athletics, weightlifting, shooting and wrestling. The country has not yet won an Olympic medal, and along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is the only European non-microstate without an Olympic medal. They have been represented by the Albanian National Olympic Committee since 1972.
Jeffrey ("Jeff") Mason Fishback is a retired middle- and long-distance runner from the United States. He won the gold medal in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase event at the 1963 Pan American Games in Brazil.
Steven Daniel Langton is an American bobsledder who has competed since 2007. On February 19, 2012 Steven Langton with pilot Steven Holcomb won the two-man event at the 2012 FIBT World Championships in Lake Placid, New York. This victory marked the first time in the sport's history an American sled had won the event. On February 26, 2012 Langton teamed with pilot Steven Holcomb and push athletes Justin Olsen and Curtis Tomasevicz to claim gold in the four-man event at the 2012 FIBT World Championships. With this victory, Holcomb and his crew became the first American team to win both the two-man and four-man events in the same world championships.
Donald "Don" Stevens is a Canadian former alpine skier who competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics. He was born in Rossland, British Columbia and was a member of the Red Mountain Racers.
