Jeremiah Byers is an American football offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and for the UTEP Miners.
Coming out of high school, he was rated as a three-star recruit and the 2,384th overall player in the class of 2019, where he committed to play college football for the UTEP Miners. [1]
During his four-year career at UTEP from 2019 through 2022, he played in 34 games while making 30 starts, earning first-team all conference honors in 2022. [2] [3] [4] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Byers decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. [5]
Byers transferred to play for the Florida State Seminoles. [6] In his two-year career as a Seminole from 2023 through 2024, he played in 23 games with 22 starts, where he was named the team's Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2023 and won the Bobby Bowden Leadership Award in 2024. [7] [8]
After not being selected in the 2025 NFL draft, Byers signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. [9] On August 26, 2025, he was released but signed back to the team's practice squad in the following days. [10]
On December 10, 2025, the Byers was signed off of the Cardinals practice squad to the Cleveland Browns active roster. [11]
