Jeremy R. Fischer [4] (born January 28,1980) is an American lawyer and politician from Maine.
He graduated summa cum laude with a BA in political science from the University of Michigan and summa cum laude with a JD from the University of Maine School of Law.
From 2000 to 2001 he interned in the congressional offices of United States Senator Susan Collins and Congressman John Baldacci. [5] In 2002 he was a delegate to the Maine State Democratic Convention. [5] From 2002 to 2004 he served as Vice Chairman of the Aroostook County Democratic Party. [5] From 2003 to 2004 he served as Director of the Minded Democrats Political Action Committee and Director of the Northern Maine Empowerment Council. [5] He was also a member of the state's Democratic Committee. [5]
He was elected to the Maine House of Representatives at the age of 22,representing Presque Isle,Maine for three terms from 2002-2008,including one term as chair of the Appropriations Committee,which oversees the state budget. Following the Democratic Party takeover of the Maine Legislature in November 2012,Fischer emerged as one of the contenders for the constitutional office of State Treasurer [6] before losing to Neria Douglass.
In 2006 he was a summer associate with the Bemis &Rossignol Law Office. [5] From 2002 to 2005 he was an account and sales executive with the Hayden &Perry Insurance Agency. [5] From 2008 to 2013 he was an attorney for business restructuring &insolvency at Bernstein Shur. [7] Since 2013 he has been an attorney at the Portland law firm Drummond Woodsum,where he specializes in bankruptcy,restructuring and debtor/creditor litigation. [7]
He later served as Director of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Fischer also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law and as a TV and radio political analyst and talk show host. [8]
John Holmes was an American politician. He served as a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts and was one of the first two U.S. Senators from Maine. Holmes was noted for his involvement in the Treaty of Ghent.
The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes,though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 8,800 citizens of the state. Because it is a part-time position,members of the Maine House of Representatives usually have outside employment as well. Members are limited to four consecutive terms of two years each,but may run again after two years.

John G. Richardson was an American politician and consultant from Maine. A Democrat,he served as Maine's Commissioner of Economic and Community Development and the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives. Richardson unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for Governor of Maine in 2010. In February 2018,the Portland Press Herald reported that Richardson was involved in a potential conflict of interest case regarding the University of Maine and a $100 million redevelopment plan for the nearby Old Town mill. On February 9,2018 the Portland Press Herald reported that there weren't any conflict of interest issues involving UMaine or Richardson.
John C. Pittenger was an American lawyer,academic and former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,serving two non-consecutive terms in the State House. He was appointed the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Education from 1972 until 1976.

Brewster was a close confidant of Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin and an antagonist of Howard Hughes,which coupled together resulted in Brewster losing his Senate seat through the unusual defeat of an incumbent Senator in his own primary.
Stanley J. 'Stan' Gerzofsky is an American politician from the state of Maine. A Brunswick resident,Gerzofsky represented the 10th Senate District. He was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives representing Brunswick in 2000 and served in the House until he was term-limited out in 2008,when he ran for the State Senate. He has been a member of the Brunswick Democratic Committee since 1980 and the Cumberland County Democratic Committee since 1990.

John Steven Vaillancourt was an American politician,who served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He represented Hillsborough County District 15,the city of Manchester Ward 8. He served from 1996 to 2014 and from 2016 until his death. He served as a member of the Democratic Party,the Libertarian Party,and later the Republican Party. Maine Question 5,formally An Act to Establish Ranked-Choice Voting,is a citizen-initiated referendum question that qualified for the Maine November 8,2016 statewide ballot. It was approved by a vote of 52% in favor,48% opposed. It sought to change how most Maine elections will be conducted from a plurality voting system to a ranked-choice voting system. It appeared on the ballot along with elections for President of the United States,Maine's two U.S. House seats,the legislature,five other ballot questions,and various local elections. The referendum was successful,making Maine the first state to use ranked choice voting for its federal elections.

Olga Katherine Torkelsen Hurley was the Secretary to Alaska Territorial Governor Ernest Gruening from 1944 until his departure from office in 1953. She was Chief Clerk to the Alaska Constitutional Convention in 1955–56 and the secretary to the State Senate for five terms. Carney completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Maine School of Law in 1990 and practiced employment,civil rights and municipal law for 16 years. She was a pro bono In-House Volunteer Attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance for eight years before running for Maine House of Representatives District 30 in 2018. In 2020,Carney was elected to her first term in the Maine Senate.
