Henry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky bordering the Kentucky River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,416. Its county seat is New Castle, but its largest city is Eminence. The county was founded in 1798 from portions of Shelby County. It was named for the statesman and governor of Virginia Patrick Henry.

History

Jericho was a station on the Louisville and Cincinnati Railroad. [2] A post office was established at Jericho in 1852, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1965. [3]

The Luther Luckett Correctional Complex is a Medium/Maximum-security state prison located in Oldham County, near La Grange, Kentucky, about 30 miles northeast of Louisville. It opened in 1981 and had a prison population 1,204 as of 2018. The Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center, which is operated by the Kentucky Health and Family Services Cabinet and is officially a separate facility, is located within the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex and shares several facilities with its host prison.

Bethlehem is an unincorporated community in Henry County, Kentucky, United States. This rural community, formerly known as Mobley Stand, is centered at the intersection of Kentucky Highways 22 and 573. Bethlehem is best known for its annual Living Nativity, celebrated on December 22–25 from 6:30–9:00 pm. The event is a collaborative effort of three local Christian churches. The Bethlehem post office offers a special postmark during the Christmas season. Each December, people from many surrounding communities, and occasionally from other states, bring their holiday cards to receive the Bethlehem postmark.
