Jerry Meyers (born March 8, 1965) is an American college baseball coach and former pitcher who is the current head baseball coach for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.
Meyers attended the Iowa State University from 1984-1987 before starting his coaching career as a graduate assistant at South Alabama. Later he was an assistant coach at Gulf Coast Community College, UNC-Wilmington, and Old Dominion. Prior to the 1996 season he joined the coaching staff at University of South Carolina as the pitching coach the under Ray Tanner.
Meyers spent eight seasons at South Carolina before being named the head baseball coach at Old Dominion University after the 2004 college baseball succeeding Tony Guzzo. During his time at ODU Meyers compiled an overall record of 167-158 in six seasons. He was named the 2006 CAA Coach of the Year and in 2008 he was the pitching coach for Team USA.
After six seasons Meyers left Old Dominion for USC in 2010 where he now coaches pitchers again.
Jerry Meyers coached some of the best college pitchers at South Carolina, including 2000 Golden Spikes Award winner Kip Bouknight. One common theme for the successful Gamecock pitching staffs under his leadership was the presence of a dominating closer.
Two of these closers rank in the top 10 all-time in single season saves, with one more being in the top 15.
Meyers and his wife Christina have two daughters, Jaye Riley and Audrey Reese.

William Augustus Hatcher is an American former professional baseball outfielder and first base coach. He played for the Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and Texas Rangers.
John Leslie Pelphrey is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. After being named Kentucky Mr. Basketball in 1987, he became a star college player at the University of Kentucky.

Daniel Livingston Meyer is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2004 to 2010 for the Atlanta Braves, Oakland Athletics, and Florida Marlins. Meyer's coaching career began in 2014, within the Braves organization. Prior to the 2022 season, he was hired by the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 2024, Meyer was hired by the Colorado Rockies organization.
Brian Patrick O'Connor is an American college baseball coach who is currently the head baseball coach of the Virginia Cavaliers. Previously serving as an Associate Head Coach at Notre Dame, he was hired on July 8, 2003, to replace the retiring Dennis Womack. O'Connor has taken the Virginia baseball team to fourteen NCAA baseball tournaments during his 15 seasons in Charlottesville, including the 2009 College World Series, the first in school history; the 2011 College World Series, as the No. 1 national seed; the 2014 College World Series, as the No. 3 national seed; and the 2015 College World Series, which they won and became National Champions for the first time in school history.
The Wilmington Sharks are an American baseball team in the East Division of the Coastal Plain League (CPL), a collegiate summer baseball league. The Sharks play their home games at Buck Hardee Field at Legion Stadium in Wilmington, North Carolina. Buck Hardee Field is more commonly referred to as "The Shark Tank."
David Scott Serrano is an American college baseball coach and former pitcher. Serrano formerly served as head coach at Cerritos College from 1984 to 1985 and at California State University, Fullerton from 1986 to 1987 for coach Augie Garrido. He served as the head coach at University of California, Irvine from 2005 to 2007, Cal State Fullerton from 2008 to 2011, the University of Tennessee from 2012 to 2017 and CSU Northridge from 2020–2022.
Terry Rooney is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current pitching coach for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He played college baseball at Davis & Elkins College in 1993, transferring to Radford where he played from 1994 to 1996. Rooney then served as the head coach of the UCF Knights (2009–2016) and the interim head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide (2017).
In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach.
John Joseph Savage is an American college baseball coach and former pitcher, who currently serves as the head baseball coach for the UCLA Bruins. He played college baseball at Santa Clara for coaches Jerry McClain and John Oldham from 1984 to 1986 before playing in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for three seasons (1986-1988). After serving as an assistant coach with Nevada and USC in the 1990s, he became the head coach for the UC Irvine Anteaters (2002–04). Savage became UCLA's head baseball coach in July 2004 and has guided the Bruins in that role for the past 18 seasons.
The 2010 South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Gamecocks played their home games in Carolina Stadium. The team was coached by Ray Tanner, who was in his fourteenth season at Carolina.
The Old Dominion Monarchs baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. The team is a member of the Sun Belt Conference, which is part of NCAA Division I. Old Dominion's first baseball team was fielded in 1931 as the William and Mary College – Norfolk Division Braves. ODU joined Division I in 1977. The team plays its home games at Bud Metheny Baseball Complex in Norfolk, Virginia, where it has played since 1982. ODU has won six conference tournament titles and have been to the NCAA tournament nine times. The Monarchs are coached by Chris Finwood, a native of Hampton, Virginia, who is in his eleventh year at the helm. The Monarchs have had eleven players reach the Major Leagues and two, Justin Verlander and Daniel Hudson, have played in the World Series.
Stephen Carr Smith is an American baseball coach and former pitcher. He was a pitching coordinator for the Detroit Tigers. He played college baseball at Baylor University from 1982 to 1983. He was the head coach at Baylor (1995–2015) and Tennessee Tech (2020–2021).
Daron Schoenrock is an American baseball coach and former pitcher. He played college baseball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles from 1981 to 1984. He then served as the head coach of the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters (1988–1989) and the Memphis Tigers (2005–2022). He is currently the pitching coach at Auburn.
Matt Myers is an American baseball coach and former pitcher who is the current pitching coach for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He served as the head coach of UNC Asheville Bulldogs (2001–2004) and Western Kentucky (2012–2015). He also served as pitching coach at UNC Wilmington, with his most recent collegiate coaching job being the pitching coach at Lipscomb.
Joel Sanchez is an American college baseball coach and former pitcher and shortstop. He is the pitching coach at Jackson State University. Sanchez played two seasons at NMJC, followed by two seasons at New Mexico State. He then played three seasons with Ciudad Juárez of the Mexican League. In 2001, he became an assistant coach with Bethune-Cookman. He spent eight seasons with the Wildcats, during which they won seven Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships and made seven NCAA Regional appearances. Sanchez served as recruiting coordinator and pitching coach, and saw fifteen of his players drafted. He then spent one season each as pitching coach with the Vermont Lake Monsters and Gulf Coast League Nationals of the Washington Nationals organization. Sanchez next spent one season as an assistant with NJCAA Daytona State. Before moving to North Carolina A&T. He was named head coach at North Carolina A&T prior to the 2012 season.
James Michael Andrew Toman is an American college baseball coach and former player. He had been head coach of Liberty from the 2008 season until 2016. Under Toman, Liberty has qualified for two NCAA tournaments. He also served as the head coach of the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (2019–2022).

Anthony Gregory "Tony" Vitello is an American college baseball head coach and former infielder. Vitello has been the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team since June 7, 2017. Since taking over as head coach, Vitello has led Tennessee back to national prominence and has helped establish Tennessee baseball as an SEC and national power. Vitello's teams have made five NCAA regionals, four NCAA super regionals (2021–2024), and three College World Series appearances, winning the College World Series National Championship in 2024 over Texas A&M for the Volunteers’ first-ever national title.
