Jerusalem retreat centre occupies a unique position among the spiritual pilgrim centres in India. Charismatic retreats are conducted in Malayalam, Tamil, and English every month round the year. This centre is promoted and owned by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate(CMI) congregation. Jerusalem has been propagating the Word of God, since its formation in 1992. People come for spiritual rejuvenation and liberation from the evils, bondage of alcohol and drug addiction. Many sick and ailing people are healed. After long years of issue-less married life, barren women are bearing fruit of their ardent prayer. The powerful presence of Jesus Christ is felt. The sick were healed, sinner were forgiven, the bondages were broken, The good news of salvation has instilled a new hope in the hearts of people irrespective of caste and religion.

How to reach Jerusalem: Jerusalem is 10 km away from Thrissur town, which is also the district headquarters. Every train stops at Thrissur railway station. The pilgrim traveling by road from south Kerala, come a head-on NH-47 to Thalore bye-pass junction. The nearest airport KOCHI International Airport(Nedumaserry) is one hour drive to the centre. Trivandrum, Kovai(Coimbatore), Trichy, Chennai are the other nearby airports. The centre has made travel arrangement from railway station and airport.

It has been the major archeparchy since 1992 when the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church was elevated to the status of a major archiepiscopal church with Ernakulam-Angamaly as the primatal see. The St. Antony's Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church is located at Ollur, Thrissur city in Kerala, India. The church belongs to Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur. According to rough figures there are around 4,000 Christian families in the parish. Because of the huge presence of Christian people in Ollur, with its religious, educational, medical, social-service, and secular organisations and institution, Ollur has been called as Chinna Roma. The church is constructed on a hill-top which is the highest location in the area. The church is surrounded by a huge protective compound wall called Elephant Wall. When Thrissur Vicariate Apostolic was erected in 1887, Ollur was the richest, most populous, and influential parish, so much that the Vicar of the Ollur parish were included in Adolph Medlycott's four-member diocesan apex council. St. Anthony's Forane Church has 18 churches under its jurisdiction.
Monsignor C. J. Varkey Kuzhikulam (1921–2009), also popularly known as "Varkeyachan", was an Indian priest of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church and the founder of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Immaculate (MSMI) in 1962. The family apostolate is its charism. At present, the congregation has 800 professed sisters working in one hundred communities in India, United States, Germany and Italy, engaged with different apostolic activities like teaching, nursing, orphanage, leprosy center, old age homes, family apostolate, social work, pastoral care, prayer and counselling. He was one of the most admired figures in the Kerala Church and a leader of the charismatic renewal movement in the state.

St. Mary's Forane Church, Chalakudy, is one of the 10 Foranes or deaneries under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Irinjalakuda, which was established in 1978 by the bifurcation of Thrissur Diocese. Prior to that, Chalakudy was part of Thrissur diocese, the most ancient Diocese of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Thrissur diocese has since been elevated to an archdiocese, Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Thrissur, within which comes the Irinjalakuda diocese. There are 16 parishes under the Chalakudy Forane. The people of Chalakudy, mainly in business or service sectors, belong to middle or upper-middle-class families. Chalakudy is one of those areas in Kerala with a high concentration of Christian population, most belonging to the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church.
