James Althoff (born September 27, 1961) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Winona State University. [1] [2] During his senior season, he was named an NAIA All-American. [3] [4]

Professional career

After graduation, he rejected an offer from USFL's Michigan Panthers but later played semi-professionally for a team in Delavan, Wisconsin. He attended an NFL-staffed tryout camp in Pennsylvania which led to the Buffalo Bills signing him for their preseason camp but he was cut before the start of the season. [4] [5] [6] After the 1987 NFL players strike begun, he signed with the Chicago Bears of the NFL during the, [7] appearing in four games with three starts. [4] [8] He was cut by the bears in August 1988, prior to the start of the season. In February 1989, he signed with the New York Giants prior to the 1989 season [9] but was cut in August before the start of the season. [10]

Wylie Dewayen Turner is an American former professional football player in the National Football League (NFL). Turner was born on April 19, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, where he attended W. T. White High School. In high school, he played football and ran track-and-field. Although he signed a letter of intent with Texas Southern University, he ended up going to Angelo State University so that he could run track-and-field and play for their football team. He started out as a running back, but was converted to cornerback. He was also the team's kick returner, leading college football in return yard average in 1977, which included a 104-yard return for a touchdown. Turner became an accomplished college track-and-field runner, competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. He was the NAIA champion at 200-meters in 1977.

D. J. LeRoy is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point from 1982 to 1987 and at Coe College from 1989 to 1999. LeRoy's 1987 Wisconsin–Stevens Point team won a share of the NAIA Division II Football National Championship after tying Pacific Lutheran in the title game. When it came to light the following spring that Wisconsin–Stevens Point had used ineligible players that season, the school forfeited its share of the national title and dismissed LeRoy from his position.
