Jim Hill (born April 23,1947) is an American attorney,financial consultant,and politician who served two terms as Oregon State Treasurer from January 4,1993,to January 1,2001. Hill had previously served in both chambers of the Oregon Legislative Assembly.
He was born in Atlanta,Georgia. [1] [2] He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1969. He received both an MBA (1971) and a Juris Doctor (1974) from Indiana University Bloomington.
Hill was elected treasurer in 1992,the first African American elected to statewide office in Oregon. [2] [3] He had previously served in the Oregon State Senate (1987–1993) and the Oregon House of Representatives (1983–1987). He ran unsuccessfully for the House in 1980,and for governor in 2002 and 2006.
In 2010,Hill was briefly a candidate in the special election for Oregon State Treasurer,to complete the term of Ben Westlund,who died in office. [4] [5]
Divorced with one grown daughter,Hill resides in Salem,Oregon. [2] [3]
Theodore Ralph Kulongoski is an American politician,judge,and lawyer who served as the 36th Governor of Oregon from 2003 to 2011. A member of the Democratic Party,he served in both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly and also served as the state Insurance Commissioner. He was the Attorney General of Oregon from 1993 to 1997 and a justice of the Oregon Supreme Court from 1997 to 2001. Kulongoski has served in all three branches of the Oregon state government.
David B. "Dave" Frohnmayer was an American attorney,politician,and academic administrator from Oregon. He was the 15th president of the University of Oregon,serving from 1994 to 2009. His tenure as president was the second-longest after John Wesley Johnson. He was the first native Oregonian to run the University of Oregon. Frohnmayer previously served as Oregon Attorney General from 1981 to 1991,and subsequently served as dean at the University of Oregon School of Law before serving as president of the university. He served in an "of counsel" attorney role with the Oregon law firm,Harrang Long Gary Rudnick P.C.
John Albert Kitzhaber is an American former politician and physician who served as governor of Oregon from 1995 to 2003 and again from 2011 to 2015. In February 2015,shortly after beginning his fourth term,Kitzhaber resigned from office and was replaced by Secretary of State Kate Brown. A member of the Democratic Party,Kitzhaber was the longest-serving governor in the state's history.

The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Oregon were held on Tuesday,November 6,2012 to elect the five U.S. representatives from the state of Oregon,apportioned according to the 2010 United States census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices,including a quadrennial presidential election.
