He was born into a Bengali family in British India (now Brahmanbaria,Comilla, Bangladesh) in 1914. He was jailed for many years for participating in the Indian independence movement. He founded Tripura's first Bengali language daily newspaper Jagaran in 1954. He wrote more than 10 books. He died on 12 September 2014 in Agartala, Tripura. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was the radio broadcasting centre of Bengali nationalist forces during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. This station played an important role in the liberation struggle, broadcasting the Declaration of Independence and increasing the morale of Bangladeshis during the genocide. In 1971, radio was the only media reaching the far ends of Bangladesh. The station ran a liberation campaign throughout the liberation war.
Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan is a higher secondary school of Tripura, a state in north-east India. It is located in Agartala, the capital of Tripura. NSV offers courses from the 1st standard till the 12th standard. It is affiliated to Tripura Board of Secondary Education. The school is named after the freedom fighter of Indian independence movement, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Manush Patrika is a Bengali daily newspaper published from Agartala, the capital of the Indian state Tripura. It was established in 1952 by late Kamala Ranjan Talapatra who served as the editor for over 50 years. As of 2021, his son, Priyabrata Talapatra is the editor. Tripura State, also known as Hill Tipperah, was a princely state in India during the period of the British Raj and for some two years after the departure of the British. Its rulers belonged to the Manikya dynasty and until August 1947 the state was in a subsidiary alliance, from which it was released by the Indian Independence Act 1947. He was the founder and chief editor of the Bengali language daily newspaper Dainik Sambad. He was awarded "Friends of Liberation War Honour" posthumously in 2012 from Bangladesh for his outstanding contributions in the Bangladesh Liberation War and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 for his journalism career and literary works.
