Joanna Frith, MBE (born 16 June 1961) is a British archer who represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.
Frith was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1992, taking up swimming in 1995 as part of her rehabilitation programme. She has competed in competitive swimming, winning medals at the World Masters Games in Edmonton Canada in 2005 and in Sydney, Australia, in 2009. [1]
Frith switched to archery after watching the sport in her role as a volunteer at the 2012 Summer Paralympics held in London, [2] becoming a member of Great Britain's archery team in 2014. [3] Frith's first success came in the 2014 European Championships winning Gold in the Individual event. Jo won two medals at the 2015 World Para-archery Championships in Donaueschingen, Germany, earning gold in the team event alongside John Walker, and a silver in the women's individual W1 event. [4] The following year at the European Para-Archery Championships in France Frith won gold in both the W1 individual and the team event, again partnered with John Walker. [5]
Frith entered the 2016 Summer Paralympics with a W1 world ranking of 2. In the individual W1 event, she scored 631 in the 72-arrow ranking round, earning her the 2nd seed, behind compatriot Jessica Stretton. [6] She went on to win the silver medal behind Stretton, with fellow Brit Vicky Jenkins taking bronze. [7]
At the same Games, Frith won gold in the team compound W1 event alongside John Walker. [8]
Frith was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to archery. [9] [10]
Danielle Brown MBE is a British competitive archer and award winning children's author. She has competed in the Paralympic Games, winning gold medals in Beijing and London, and has also won medals shooting in the able-bodied category, including at the Commonwealth Games.

At the 2012 Summer Paralympics she won two medals, an individual gold and team bronze. She has qualified to compete at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Paralympics. She was the flag bearer at the 2016 Olympics and the postponed 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo where she shared the honour with thrower Nourmohammad Arekhi.
Sharon Vennard is a British competitive archer who competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Great Britain and Northern Ireland competed, under the name Great Britain, at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The first places for which the team qualified were for six athletes in sailing events.
Patrick Huston is a British two-time Olympian archer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He captured three world championship titles under the youth level, and eventually competed as a member of the two person archery squad of Team GB at the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio, losing the first round match to the eventual champion Ku Bon-chan of South Korea. In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics his best result was a men's team 5th. Huston currently lives near Lilleshall National Sporting Centre and trained full-time under senior national coach Richard Priestman for Archery UK, while remaining a loyal founding member of East Belfast Archery Club. Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held between 10 and 17 September 2016 at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí in the Maracana zone of Rio de Janeiro, and consisted of nine events. The make up of those events changed substantially from the 2012 games, and consisted of three men's events, three women's events and three events for mixed gender teams. Men, women and mixed teams each competed in two events for compound bow, one for wheelchair athletes, the other open, and an open event for recurve bow, the bow used for all Olympic events.
