Jo Willems is a Belgian cinematographer. Growing up in Westerlo outside Antwerp, he studied film at the LUCA School of Arts, [1] before he relocated to the United Kingdom at the age of 21. [2] He made his feature film cinematography debut with Hard Candy (2005) directed by David Slade, with whom Willems would also collaborate with again on 30 Days of Night (2007). [3] Willems would reunite with music video director Francis Lawrence on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), serving as cinematographer on following installments of the franchise for Lawrence as well as the spy thriller Red Sparrow (2018), [4] the fantasy adventure Slumberland (2022), [5] and three episodes of the Apple TV+ series See (2019–2022). [6]
For his work on the horror film His House (2020), Willems received a nomination for the British Independent Film Award for Best Cinematography. [7]

The cinematographer or director of photography is the person responsible for the recording of a film, television production, music video or other live-action piece. The cinematographer is the chief of the camera and light crews working on such projects. They would normally be responsible for making artistic and technical decisions related to the image and for selecting the camera, film stock, lenses, filters, etc. The study and practice of this field are referred to as cinematography.
Janusz Zygmunt Kamiński is a Polish cinematographer and director of film and television. He has established a partnership with Steven Spielberg, working as a cinematographer on his films since 1993. He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Spielberg's holocaust drama Schindler's List and World War II epic Saving Private Ryan (1998). He has also received Academy Award nominations for Amistad (1997), The Diving Bell & the Butterfly (2007), War Horse (2011), Lincoln (2012), and West Side Story (2021). He has also received nominations for five BAFTA Awards, and six American Society of Cinematographers Awards.
Vittorio Storaro, A.S.C., A.I.C., is an Italian cinematographer widely recognized as one of the best and most influential in cinema history, for his work on numerous classic films including The Conformist (1970), Apocalypse Now (1979), and The Last Emperor (1987). Erik Messerschmidt, ASC is an American cinematographer. He is best known for his collaborations with director David Fincher on the films Mank and The Killer and Gone Girl, and on the Netflix series Mindhunter. He has also shot episodes of the TV series Fargo, Legion, and Raised by Wolves. His work has been nominated for an Emmy. In April 2021, he won the top ASC Award and the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for Mank.
The British Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography in a Theatrical Feature Film is an award given annually by the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC). It was first given in 1953, since 1976 a set of nominees is presented.
