The Cabinet of the United States is the principal official advisory body to the president of the United States. The Cabinet generally meets with the president in a room adjacent to the Oval Office in the West Wing of the White House. The president chairs the meetings but is not formally a member of the Cabinet. The vice president of the United States serves in the Cabinet by statute. The heads of departments,appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate,are members of the Cabinet,and acting department heads also participate in Cabinet meetings whether or not they have been officially nominated for Senate confirmation. The president may designate heads of other agencies and non-Senate-confirmed members of the Executive Office of the President as members of the Cabinet.

They are analogous to ministries common in parliamentary or semi-presidential systems but they are led by a head of government who is also the head of state. The executive departments are the administrative arms of the president of the United States. There are currently 15 executive departments.

The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Transport,also referred as Ministry of Transport and Communications is a Norwegian ministry established in 1946,and is responsible for transportation in Norway. The ministry was responsible for communication infrastructure until may 2019,when the responsibility for the Norwegian Communications Authority was transferred to Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development. Since October 2021,the ministry has been headed by Jon-Ivar Nygård of the Labour Party. The department must report to the parliament (Stortinget).
The Norwegian Police Service is the Norwegian national civilian police agency. The service dates to the 13th century when the first sheriffs were appointed,and the current structure established in 2003. It comprises a central National Police Directorate,seven specialty agencies and twelve police districts. The government agency is subordinate to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security and has 16,000 employees,of which 8,000 are police officers. In addition to police powers,the service is responsible for border control,certain civil duties,coordinating search and rescue operations,counterterrorism,highway patrolling,writ of execution,criminal investigation and prosecution. Brian Abel-Smith was a British economist and expert adviser and one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century in shaping health and social welfare. In Britain,his research for the Guillebaud committee in 1956 proved that the NHS provided extremely good value for money and deserved more investment. From the 1960s he was one of a new breed of special advisers to Labour government ministers –helping Richard Crossman,Barbara Castle and David Ennals to reconfigure the NHS,set up Resource Allocation Working Party,and the Black Inquiry into Health Inequalities. Internationally,he steered the development of health services in over 50 countries. He was a key WHO and EEC adviser,intimately involved in setting the agenda for global campaigns such as Health for All by the year 2000.
Harald Johannes Gjein is a Norwegian veterinarian and civil servant,and the current director-general of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority. He was appointed by the King-in-Council on 15 April 2011 and took office on 1 June 2011,succeeding Joakim Lystad.
A special adviser or special advisor is a high-ranking civil servant in the Norwegian civil service with rank code (stillingskode) 1220 in the Norwegian state. The Ministry of Finance has stated that special advisers belong to the "highest career level" in government departments. Special advisers may be highly qualified experts or people with high-level experience from the government service,including former top executives of government agencies. The title is used in government departments,where special advisers are the single most highly paid category. The rank is also used in other parts of the civil service,including directorates and health trusts. In the Basic Collective Agreement (hovedtariffavtalen) for the Norwegian state,special advisers have the second highest minimum pay grade,ranking above all the director ranks and second only to a rarely used rank for the most senior attorneys with the Office of the Attorney General of Norway.
Pran Nath Luthra (1917–2000) was an Indian civil service officer and writer,best known for his services for the rehabilitation of the refugees in the Northeast India and his writings on his days of service. He was an adviser to the Governor of Assam and an additional secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of West Bengal. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan,the third highest civilian award,in 1972.
