Joan Kipkemoi Rotich (also known as Joan Chepkemoi or Joanne Kipkemoi; born 27 November 1993) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in the 3000 metres steeplechase.
Born in Kericho, Kenya, [1] she first emerged at national level in 2014. At the Kenyan Athletics Championships she ran a personal best time of 9:44.00 minutes for the steeplechase to finish second behind Purity Kirui. [2]
This gained her selection for the Kenyan team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the competition she ran a personal best of 9:33.34 minutes to place third in the 3000 m steeplechase final. Her performance made it a Kenyan medal sweep, as her compatriots Kirui and Milcah Chemos Cheywa took the top two spots. [3]
Michael Kipkorir Kipyego is a Kenyan runner who competes in marathon races. He was initially a specialist in the 3000 metres steeplechase and was the 2002 World Junior Champion in the event. He represented Kenya in the steeplechase at the World Championships in 2003 and was runner-up at the 2008 African Championships. He set a personal best of 8:08.48 in 2009.

Kenneth Kiprop Kipkemoi[a] is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in the 10,000 metres, the half marathon, and the marathon. He was the 2012 African champion in the 10,000 m, has a half marathon best of 59:11 minutes, and was the winner of the 2018 Rotterdam Marathon with a time of 2:05:44. He also won Eindhoven Marathon in 2023 with a personal best of 2:04:52.
Conseslus Kipruto is a Kenyan middle-distance runner who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He was the 2016 Rio Olympic champion in the event. At the World Athletics Championships, Kipruto won gold medals in 2017 and 2019, silver medals in 2013 and 2015, and a bronze in 2022. In 2018, he captured gold medals at the African Championships and Commonwealth Games. He is a four-time Diamond League winner.

He was the gold medallist at the 2014 African Championships in Athletics and silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

She won gold at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics and 2011 All-Africa Games, and bronze at the 2017 World Championships and 2012 African Championships in Athletics. At the Olympic Games, she won silver in Rio de Janeiro and bronze in Tokyo. As of August 2021, her personal best time of 9:00.01 ranks her 6th on the world all-time list.
Rosefline Chepngetich is a Kenyan steeplechase runner. She holds a personal best of 9:35.75 minutes for the 3000 metres steeplechase and is ranked third on the all-time youth lists for the 2000 m steeplechase distance.
Madeline Heiner is an Australian runner. She placed fourth in the women's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she placed 7th in the 3000m steeplechase final and 10th in the 5000m final. She also represented Australia in the 2015 IAAF World Championships, 2017 IAAF World Championships and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Norah Jeruto Tanui is a Kazakhstani long-distance runner specialising in the steeplechase. She won the gold medal in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2022 World Championships, becoming the first athlete representing Kazakhstan to win a title at the World Athletics Championships and setting a championship record in the process. Jeruto took gold in the event at the 2016 African Championships in Athletics.
Beatrice Chepkoech Sitonik is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in the 3000 metres steeplechase. She won gold medals at the 2019 World Championships and 2018 African Championships and silver medal at the 2023 World Championships. In the 1500 metres, Chepkoech took silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and bronze at the 2015 African Games. She is the world record holder for the 3000 m steeplechase with a time of 8:44.32 set in 2018 in Monaco. With that mark she became the first woman to break the 8:50 and 8:45 barriers in the event.
Yemane Haileselassie is an Eritrean male steeplechase runner. He is the national record holder at 8:22.52 minutes and represented his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
