Jobair Ahmad is a one-star-ranked retired Naval officer of Bangladesh and Chief Advisor of the Primeasia University. [1] He is the vice-chairman of Prime Islami Life Insurance Limited. [2] [3]

Ahmad was the Pro-Vice Chancellor in Bangladesh University of Professionals. [4] He is a former director general of the Department of Shipping, river transport regulatory agency. [5] He is a former member of the Chittagong Port Authority. [6]

Early life

Ahmed was born in 1961. [4] His father was Kaikobad Ahmad. [4] His grandfather, Sultan Ahmed, was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Pakistan. [4]

Career

Ahmed joined the Bangladesh Naval Academy as an officer cadet on 1 November 1979. [7] He was then commissioned in the engineering branch of the Bangladesh Navy on 5 May 1982. [7] He studied engineering at the Marshal Tito Military Academy of the Yugoslav People's Army School. [4]

Ahmed held command positions, which included Area Commander Dhaka. [4] He is a former Director of Naval intelligence at the Bangladesh Naval Headquarters. [8]

Ahmed also served at the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat as the sergeant-at-arms. [7]

Bangladesh Civil Service (Taxation) Association announced a boycott of Ahmed, director general of the Department of Shipping, for misbehaving with Mongla Port Customs Commissioner Humayun Kabir. [9] He was the President of Chittagong Port Development and Research Council. [10]

In July 2020, Ahmed was elected vice-chairman of Prime Islami Life Insurance Limited. [7] He is a director of the insurance company. [11]

A writer by occupation, Sofa wrote 18 non-fiction books, 8 novels, 4 collections of poems, 2 collections of short stories, and several books in other genres.

Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu was a Bangladeshi politician of the Jatiya Party and served as the Secretary General for two terms. Currently the company has 23 Divisional Offices, 103 Service Center Offices, 252 Zonal Offices and 635 Premium collection centers throughout Bangladesh. Sheikh Kabir Hossain is the chairman of the company.

Faridun Nahar Laily is a Bangladeshi politician, entrepreneur, freedom fighter, and a former Jatiya Sangsad member from the reserved women's seat of the 12th national assembly. She was previously Member of Parliament in the reserved women's seat, nominated by the Bangladesh Awami League in the Ninth National Assembly. Faridun Nahar Laily is in her third term as the Agriculture and Cooperatives Secretary of the Central Committee of the Awami League. Before this, she was the Relief and Social Welfare Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Awami League. She has previously held the position of Senior Joint General Secretary of the Bangladesh Women's Awami League.

Abul Fayez Muhammad Khalid Hossain is a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar and currently serves as the Adviser for Religious Affairs in the Yunus interim government since 8 August 2024. His appointment marks the first time an Islamic scholar has held this advisory role in Bangladesh. He is also the Vice President of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and serves as the Education Adviser for Islami Andolan Bangladesh. He previously held the position of President of Islami Chhatra Samaj, the student wing of the Nizam-e-Islam Party. In academia, he is a visiting professor at the International Islamic University Chittagong and has previously served as an adjunct professor at the Asian University of Bangladesh. Muin-ud-din Ahmad Khan was a Bangladeshi historian, and professor of Islamic history and culture at the University of Chittagong. He served as the founder Vice-chancellor of Southern University Bangladesh and the first Director General of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh.

Nur Ahmed was a Bengali-Pakistani lawyer and politician.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail (TAS), NUP, PPM, psc, BN was a former two-star admiral in Bangladesh Navy. His last appointment was Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority. Prior to join here he was Chairman of Payra Port Authority. Before that, he was serving as the Director of Submarine at the Navy Headquarters.
