Jobra High School is a high school in the Indian state of Odisha. [1] The school was established in 1966 as a primary school; in 1979 it received high school status. Popularly known as Jobra Municipal High School is an Odia medium coeducational school. Students of Jobra and nearby locations, even from outside of Cuttack study there.

The school is run and approved by the Govt Of Odisha. It extends teaching facilities in humanities, social sciences, and physical sciences. The main objective of this institution is to disseminate knowledge to the students in different fields. Simultaneously, this institution also aims at the overall physical, mental and moral development of the students. Games and sports are also an integral part of this institution which inspires the students to be physically fit. There are also many societies and associations related to social service and cultural programmes, N.C.C.[ clarification needed ] and scout. The syllabus of the school includes Odia, Hindi, English and Sanskrit in its language learning curriculum.

Smt. Gayatri Pattnaik is current Headmistress of the School.

Ravenshaw University

Ravenshaw University is a co-educational state university situated in Cuttack, Odisha on the eastern coast of India. Founded as Ravenshaw College in 1868, the institution became a university in 2006. Radhanath Ray

Radhanath Ray was an Odia writer of initial modernity era in Odia poetry during the later part of nineteenth century. He was born in a Zamindar family in Baleshwar, now in Odisha, and is honoured in Odia literature with the title Kabibara. In his early life, he composed in both Odia and Bengali languages, but later he shifted his writings in Odia only. He was born on 28 September 1848, at Kedarpur village in Baleswar district, Odisha. He has contributed verses and poetry for Odia literature in the nineteenth century.

Madhusudan Das

Madhusudan Das was an Indian lawyer and a social reformer, who founded Utkal Sammilani in 1903 to campaign for the unification of Orissa along with its social and industrial development. He was one of the main persons, helping in the creation of Orissa Province, which was established on 1 April 1936. He was also the first graduate and advocate of Orissa. He is also known as Kulabruddha, Madhu Babu, and Utkala Gouraba. In Odisha, his birthday is celebrated as the Lawyers' Day on 28 April.

Ravenshaw Collegiate School Public high school

Ravenshaw Collegiate School is the oldest High School of Odisha which was established in 1851 by Thomas Edward Ravenshaw in the District of Cuttack in Odisha, India. It was one of three institutions founded by Ravenshaw, the other two being the Ravenshaw Girls' School and the Ravenshaw College, the latter now having become Ravenshaw University.

Binod Kanungo

Binod Kanungo is a renowned Odia author, freedom fighter, Gandhian, educator, social reformer and celebrated compiler of the Gyana Mandala, which is the greatest encyclopaedia in the Odia language. He also won the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award for his travelogue Runa Parishodha (1983). He was also a veteran freedom fighter and notable educationist. He was awarded with India's fourth highest civilian honour "Padmashree". He died on 22 June 1990.

Subrat Kumar Prusty

Subrat Kumar Prusty is an Indian Odia-language scholar, activist, social entrepreneur, literary critique and author. He is the Member Secretary of the Institute of Odia Studies and Research, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He was prepared the research documentation and instrumental in advocating the classical status to Odia language forming Central Institute of Classical Odia, Odia University and implementation of the Orissa Official Language Act, 1954.

Jogimunda Village in Odisha, India

Jogimunda is a village Panchayat in Bolangir district in the Indian state of Odisha. The official language is Odia. Sayeed Mohammed

Sayeed Mohammed was an Indian Odia educationist and philanthropist from Cuttack. In 1913 he founded the Muslim Seminary at Cuttack, which is regarded as the second nationalist school of Odisha. Sayeed is known for his activism against the British in the early 1900s. He was one of the prominent members of the Utkal Sammilani. Sayeed along with Ekram Rasul co-founded the All Odisha Khilafat Committee in 1922.
