John Carlos "JC" Gordon de los Reyes [1] (born February 14,1970) is the President of the Ang Kapatiran Party and a senatorial candidate for the 2013 Philippine midterm election. De los Reyes was a councilor in Olongapo and the presidential candidate of the Ang Kapatiran Party for the 2010 Philippine presidential election. [2]
De los Reyes studied at the Ateneo de Manila for his elementary education and graduated from De La Salle Santiago Zobel School for high school. He finished his Bachelor of Arts in Theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. [3] [4]
In late 1993,he taught philosophy in the Center for Research and Communication,now known as the University of Asia and the Pacific. During that time,he was under the tutelage of Father Joseph de Torre,a Spanish priest of the Holy Cross who wrote about the social teachings of the Church.
In 1999,he finished his postgraduate studies in public administration from the University of the Philippines. In 2005,he finished his law degree at Saint Louis University in Baguio,Philippines. [3] [4]
De Los Reyes is married to Filipino-Brazilian,Dunia Valenzuela-Delos Reyes,with whom he has four children:Gabriel,Santiago,Barbara,and Julianna.

The 2016 presidential campaign of Rodrigo Duterte was announced on November 21,2015. Rodrigo Duterte,who was then serving as Mayor of Davao City,had refused to run and turned down other presidential and vice-presidential aspirants' offers to be his running mate,including that of Jejomar Binay,Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Bongbong Marcos. He was eventually elected President of the Philippines. Duterte's positions was seen to have resonated with older,working class Filipinos,particularly his promise to eliminate the wide-scale drug menace of the country and his harsh stances on crime in Davao City,which he served for more than 22 years,and corruption. Duterte's campaign also emphasized an anti-establishment tone,accusing political elites based in Manila of not doing much to solve problems in a move that was described as populist.
The Republican Party was a political party in the Philippines. It was founded by labour activist and writer Isabelo de los Reyes,whose leadership was shortly turned over to Gregorio Aglipay,the first Supreme Bishop of the Philippine Independent Church. Isabelo de los Reyes founded the party in 1905,with Gregorio Aglipay taking over the leadership shortly thereafter. Both were members of the Philippine Independent Church. The party was subsequently banned by the United States Insular Government after the 1907 elections.
