John Patterson (born July 7,1956) is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He won election to the 99th District in 2012 (taking office in January,2013) and won reelection in 2014,2016,and 2018. His district includes most of Ashtabula County and parts of Geauga County,including the City of Chardon.
Patterson is the son of a chiropractor and a homemaker. [1] He graduated from Jefferson Area High School in 1974. He attended Marietta College,where he was an assistant coach for the baseball team.
Following graduation,Patterson became a baseball coach at Kent State University and also worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and as a truck driver. He later would become a teacher,and taught history at Jefferson Area High School for thirty years. Patterson and his wife Nancy reside in Jefferson,Ohio and they have two sons. [2]
In 2012,Patterson opted to take on Representative Casey Kozlowski,who had won by only forty-two votes in 2010. [3] Unopposed in the Democratic primary,he went on to defeat Kozlowski with 52.78% of the vote. [4]
Timothy John Ryan is an American politician who served as a U.S. representative for Ohio from 2003 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party,he represented Ohio's 13th congressional district from 2013 to 2023,having previously represented Ohio's 17th congressional district from 2003 to 2013. Ryan's district included a large swath of northeastern Ohio,from Youngstown to Akron. He was the Democratic nominee in the 2022 United States Senate election in Ohio.
Donald Milford Payne was an American politician who was the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 10th congressional district from 1989 until his death. He was a member of the Democratic Party. The district encompassed most of the city of Newark,parts of Jersey City and Elizabeth,and some suburban communities in Essex and Union counties. He was the first African American to represent New Jersey in Congress.

He announced on October 29,2017,as a candidate for Ohio Governor in the 2018 election. On December 8,2017,he announced he would resign from the Supreme Court on January 26,2018.
Edwin George Perlmutter is an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Colorado's 7th congressional district from 2007 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party,his district was located in the northern and western suburbs of the Denver metropolitan area. He previously served as the Colorado state senator from the 20th district from 1995 to 2003. On January 10,2022,he announced he would not seek re-election in 2022.

For one or two weekends per month,Heinz continued his work as a hospitalist in Tucson,Arizona. Heinz left the position in March 2015.
Casey Kozlowski is currently serving as an Ashtabula County Commissioner and is a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 99th district. He was elected in November 2010 and served one term during the 129th General Assembly. He sponsored seven pieces of legislation,of which,four bills were signed into law by Governor Kasich. He lost reelection in 2012.
The 2012 United States presidential election in Ohio took place on November 6,2012,as part of the 2012 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia participated. Ohio voters chose 18 electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote pitting incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama and his running mate,Vice President Joe Biden,against Republican challenger and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and his running mate,Congressman Paul Ryan. This election continued Ohio's bellwether streak,as the state voted for the winner of the presidency in every election from 1964 to 2016.

A Republican,he upset incumbent U.S. Representative Jean Schmidt to win the 2012 Republican primary election. In November 2023,he announced he would not seek re-election in 2024.
Tom Cullerton is an American politician. Cullerton was a member of the Illinois Senate representing the 23rd district from 2013 until resigning in 2022. Shortly after,he pleaded guilty to 1 count of embezzlement. During his tenure,the 23rd district spanned northern DuPage County and included all or parts of Addison,Bloomingdale,Bartlett,Carol Stream,Glendale Heights,Hanover Park,Itasca,Roselle,Villa Park,West Chicago,Wayne,Wood Dale and Medinah. Prior to his service in the Illinois Senate he was the Village President of Villa Park from 2009 to 2013 and served one term as a village trustee from 2005 to 2009.
Greta Johnson is an American attorney and politician. Johnson is the former representative of the 35th district of the Ohio House of Representatives,serving from January 2015 to March 2017. Johnson is a former assistant prosecutor for Summit County,who challenged incumbent representative Zack Milkovich in the 2014 Democratic primary. Johnson defeated Milkovich with 54% of the vote and won the general election with 61% of the vote. She held the seat until 2017,when she resigned to work for the Summit County Executive.
Emilia Strong Sykes is an American politician who is the U.S. representative for Ohio's 13th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party,she formerly represented the 34th district of the Ohio House of Representatives,which consists of portions of the Akron area. From 2019 until 2021,she also served as minority leader of that chamber.
