Tom Tykwer is a German film director, producer, screenwriter, and composer. He is best known internationally for directing the thriller films Run Lola Run (1998), Heaven (2002), Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006), and The International (2009). He collaborated with The Wachowskis as co-director for the science fiction film Cloud Atlas (2012) and the Netflix series Sense8 (2015–2018), and worked on the score for Lana Wachowski's The Matrix Resurrections (2021). Tykwer is also well known as the co-creator of the internationally acclaimed German television series Babylon Berlin (2017–).
Jet are an Australian rock band formed in 2001. Founding mainstays are brothers Nic and Chris Cester together with Cameron Muncey. They were joined in the following year by Mark Wilson. The quartet released three studio albums Get Born (2003), Shine On (2006) and Shaka Rock (2009) before disbanding in 2012. Get Born is their highest charting work, which peaked at number one in Australia, top 20 in the United Kingdom and top 30 in the United States. Its lead single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" (2003) reached the top 20 in Australia and UK and top 30 in the US. Both Shine On and Shaka Rock are Australian top five albums, while their other top 20 singles are "Look What You've Done" (2004), "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" (2006) and "She's a Genius" (2009).

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer is a 2006 period psychological thriller film directed by Tom Tykwer, who cowrote the screenplay with Andrew Birkin and Bernd Eichinger, based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Patrick Süskind. The film stars Ben Whishaw, Alan Rickman, Rachel Hurd-Wood and Dustin Hoffman. Set in 18th-century France, the film tells the story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Whishaw), an olfactory genius, and his homicidal quest for the perfect scent.
The Other Ones were a pop rock band which formed in Berlin in 1984. Australian-born siblings Alf Klimek, the twins Jayney Klimek and Johnny Klimek were joined by a German-born trio of Stephan Gottwald (keyboards), Andreas Schwarz-Ruszczynski (guitars) and Uwe Hoffmann (drums). They issued two albums, The Other Ones (1986) and Learning to Walk (1988), before disbanding in 1990. Their second single, "We Are What We Are", peaked in the United States Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 40 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. Its follow up, "Holiday", peaked at No. 29 in October 1987 on the US Billboard Hot 100, No. 10 in New Zealand, No. 4 in Germany, No. 13 in Austria and No. 22 in Switzerland.
Reinhold Heil is a German musician, producer, and film and television composer. He initially achieved success in Germany as a member of the post-punk and Neue Deutsche Welle groups Nina Hagen Band, Spliff and Nena, and later as a music producer.

That group included his younger twin siblings, Johnny and Jayney. In 1987, they had two hit singles, "Holiday" and "We Are What We Are", which charted in both Germany and the United States.

WaterTower Music and Sony Classical Records released the soundtrack album via digital download on 23 October 2012 and CD on 13 November 2012. It was further nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.
