Jolsobi (End of Spring) is an Assamese language film directed and written by debutant independent filmmaker Jaicheng Jai Dohutia and produced by Mayamara Productions in association with Arman Productions, FunDeMental Studios and Mogador Film. [1] [2] [3] The film is based on gender equality a massive issue and a worldwide injustice.
Tapashi (Darathie Bharadwaj), a young college grad, the protagonist of the film tries to hold a job; she even tries to salvage her relationship with a man who doesn't feel the same way about her while attempting to make it big in a small village that restricts her and barely allows her freedom of choice but none of it is ever sufficient. [4] [5]
Jolsobi is an Indo-German production. [6] It has been made by Mayamara Art & Culture in association with Mogador Film Berlin, Fundamental Studios Frankfurt and Arman Productions India. [1] [7] Dohutia wrote the script in 2020.

Assamese cinema, is an Indian film industry of Assamese-language. It is based in Assam, India. The industry was born in 1935 when Jyoti Prasad Agarwala released his movie Joymoti. Since then the Assamese cinema has developed a slow-paced, sensitive style. In beginning the industry were called Jollywood, named for Agarwala's Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio.

The film was initially a work-in-progress selected by NFDC's work-in-progress lab as a Film Bazaar Recommends Film to be developed and brought into post-production via their workshop and eminent panel of international advisors. The movie is awaiting a release in 2016.

The first ever Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) to be held in northeast India, which will be inaugurated on 28 October 2017 by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The Assam government supported festival began on 28 October with screening of the Oscar winning ‘The Salesman’, directed by Asghar Farhadi and produced by a joint collaboration of Iran and France.
