Jon Judkins (born March 3, 1964) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Utah Tech Trailblazers men's basketball team. [1]
After a season at Dixie College (now Utah Tech University), Judkins transferred to Utah State where he was the first Aggie to post a triple-double, and was part of the team's 1988 NCAA tournament bid. [1] [2] [3]
After graduation, Judkins joined the coaching staff at Snow College, where he was an assistant until 1993, when he was elevated to head coach. Over the next 12 seasons, he posted a 284–128 record before joining Utah Tech in 2005, guiding the team through its transition from junior college to NCAA status, first in Division II and in 2020, Division I as the Trailblazers join the Western Athletic Conference. Overall, Judkins has guided Utah Tech to 11-straight winning seasons, six Pacific West Conference championships, and eight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. [1]
Judkins' brother, Jeff, is a former National Basketball Association (NBA) player and former head coach of the BYU Cougars women's basketball team. [5]

Utah Tech University (UT), formerly Dixie State University (DSU), is a polytechnic 4-year public university in St. George, Utah. The university offers doctoral degrees, master's degrees, bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, and certifications. As of fall 2022, there are 12,556 students enrolled at UT.
The Scenic West Athletic Conference is a sports association for junior colleges located in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California. The conference is a member of the NJCAA and sponsors 10 sports, 5 for men and 5 for women. It is the sole conference in the NJCAA's Region 18.
Brian Francis Gregory is an American vice president of player programming for the Phoenix Suns and former college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, he was the head coach at Dayton and an assistant coach under Izzo at Michigan State.
Jeff Reed Judkins is a retired American professional basketball player and coach. He coached the Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougars women's basketball team from 2001 to 2022, after serving as their assistant coach in 2000–01. A 6'6", 185-lb shooting guard, he played college basketball at the University of Utah from 1974 to 1978 and had a career in the NBA from 1978 to 1983.
The Utah Valley Wolverines represent Utah Valley University in NCAA DI collegiate athletics and sponsor 16 sporting programs. The Wolverines participate in the Western Athletic Conference. The school mascot is the Wolverine, and the colors are green and white. The UVU student section is called The Den. The Trailblazers compete as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC); in football, the school competes in the second level of D-I football, the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), in the United Athletic Conference (UAC). The UAC was formed after the 2022 football season as a merger of the football leagues of the WAC and the ASUN Conference.

Craig Francis Smith is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for the Utah Utes men's team of the Big 12 Conference. He served as an assistant for Tim Miles at four schools – Mayville State, North Dakota State, Colorado State, and Nebraska. Smith was also the head coach at Mayville State from 2004 to 2007, at South Dakota from 2014 to 2018, and at Utah State from 2018 to 2021.
The 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 6, 2018. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded with the Final Four in Minneapolis on April 8, 2019. Practices officially began on September 28, 2018. The season saw Zion Williamson dominate Player of the Year honors and media attention, while Virginia won its first NCAA Championship. The NCAA Championship Game between Virginia and Texas Tech would mark the final NCAA game with a 20-foot 9 inch three-point shot line, as it moved out to the FIBA standard of 22 feet and 2 inches the following year.

Previously, the school's team participated in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, at the Division II level of the NCAA. The team announced January 5, 2021, that they would suspend their 2020–2021 season indefinitely, in wake of continued cancellations due to COVID-19.

The 2022–23 WAC men's basketball season began with practices in October 2022 followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November 2022. The conference began play in December 2022. This is the WAC's 61st season of basketball. The WAC competed again with 13 teams with two teams leaving the conference and two teams joining the conference from the prior year. Chicago State turned independent and Lamar moved to the Southland Conference. Southern Utah University joins from the Big Sky Conference and UT Arlington joins from the Sun Belt Conference. Dixie State was also renamed as Utah Tech. Each WAC member played an 18-game conference schedule. The WAC tournament was held March 6–11, 2023 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Trailblazers, led by 19th-year head coach Jon Judkins, play their home games at Burns Arena in St. George, Utah as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 11–20, 7–13 in WAC play to finish in ninth place, and thus they did not qualify to play in the WAC Tournament.
