Jonathan-Deiwea Detageouwa (born 4 February 1994) is a track and field athlete from Nauru. He is the national record holder in shot put and discus throw, and a bronze medalist at the 2024 Oceania Athletics Championships. [1]
In 2022, he competed at the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championships in Mackay, Australia, finishing in sixth place in the shot put. [2] In the August of that year he was selected for the shot put at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where he threw a personal best of 15.41m in the final to place twelfth. [3] [4]
In June 2023, he managed a 16.07m personal best to win gold in the shot put at the 2023 Oceania Athletics Cup in Saipan. [5]
He won the bronze medal at the 2024 Oceania Athletics Championships in Suva, Fiji, with a 42.90 metres discus throw. [6]
He worked as a security guard in his native Nauru. [7]
Dame Valerie Kasanita Adams is a retired New Zealand shot putter. She is a four-time World champion, four-time World Indoor champion, two-time Olympic, three-time Commonwealth Games champion and twice IAAF Continental Cup winner. She has a personal best throw of 21.24 metres (69.7 ft) outdoors and 20.98 metres (68.8 ft) indoors. These marks are Oceanian, Commonwealth and New Zealand national records. She also holds the Oceanian junior record (18.93 m) and the Oceanian youth record (17.54 m), as well as the World Championships record, World Indoor Championships record and Commonwealth Games record.
Margaret "Meg" Elizabeth Stone is a retired Scottish discus thrower and Shot putter. She reached the Olympic finals at discus in Moscow 1980 (9th) and Los Angeles 1984 (5th). She also won the 1982 Commonwealth Games title. Her discus best of 67.48 metres has stood as the British record since 1981, while her shot put best of 18.99 metres has stood as the Scottish record since 1983.
Dani Stevens is a retired Australian discus thrower who in 2009 became the youngest ever female world champion in the event. She is the current national and Oceanian record holder.
Jackson Gill is a New Zealand track and field athlete who competes in the shot put. Gill throws with his right hand, using the spin technique. In 2010, he won gold in the shot put at the World Junior Championships at the age of 15 years, 213 days, which made him the youngest ever male gold medalist at the World Junior Championships. In 2012, he defended his title at the 2012 World Junior Championships.
Aled Siôn Davies is a Welsh Paralympian athlete competing mainly in category F42 throwing events. In 2012 he became the world record holder of the F42 shot put and in the 2012 Summer Paralympics he took the bronze medal in shot put and gold in the discus. In 2013 Davies took the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus in Lyon. He won double gold in his home country at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in the shot put and discus. Daniel West is a British Paralympian track and field athlete competing mainly in category F34 throwing events. He has represented Great Britain in four Paralympic Games and has qualified for the team for a fifth time at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. West has two bronze Paralympic medals and one silver, all in the shot put, and has medalled in the IPC World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
Tomas Walsh is a New Zealand athlete who competes mainly in the shot put. He is the current national record holder both outdoors and indoors for the event. His personal best of 22.90 m, set in Doha, 5 October 2019, is also the Oceanian record and makes him the sixth best shot putter in history.
Simon Alexander Williams is a male British former shot putter and discus thrower. He was the gold medallist in the shot put at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He also represented Great Britain in the discus at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics and the 1992 Summer Olympics.
David Lorne Steen is a Canadian former track and field athlete who specialised in the shot put. Chioma Chukwujindu "CiCi" Onyekwere is an American-born Nigerian track and field athlete specializing in the Discus Throw. She has competed in the shotput and discus throw both on the collegiate level and internationally representing Nigeria and holds the African & Nigerian Record for the Discus Throw. Her personal best of 64.96 meters for the Discus Throw was achieved in 2023.
Sarah Edmiston is an Australian Paralympic athlete who specialises in the discus and shot put. At her first major international competition, she won the bronze medal in the Women's Discus F44 at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships and followed this up with a silver medal in the same event at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. She also won the bronze medal in the Women's Discus F64 at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

Navjeet Kaur Dhillon is an Indian track and field athlete who competes as a Discus thrower. Her current world ranking in the Women's Discus Throw category is 46, and in the Women's Overall ranking is 4165. She was the bronze medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, with her final throw of 57.43 m and became the second Indian to win a medal at the World Junior Championships in Athletics in 2014. She holds a personal best of 59.18 m, set in 2018 in Indian Grand Prix in February, 2018.
Margaret Satupai is a Samoan athlete, who holds the Samoan records in shotput and discus and won a bronze medal for shot put in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Obiageri Pamela Amaechi is a Nigerian discus thrower who won the discus event at the 2023 African Games and came third in the discus events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 African Championships in Athletics. She has competed for the Princeton Tigers in US college athletics.
